I've never seen a change with auto mode in the CIC. It stays on day mode permanently. |

Lovely looking car, whereabouts did you get the Angel eye led's and how much if you don't mind me asking?
Also on your e92 do you know how dark the tints were? Only asking as I've just brought an e93 the same colour and want to get my windows done but don't want to go too dark so trying to find something that's not too dark but still looks good. Cheers Dan |

Guessing it wasn't active as all other settings are already in my iDrive menu.

The Angel eyes are from eBay £35 delivered, no doubt there's better ones about but due to the design inside the headlight the outer ring will always be duller than the smaller inside ring. These are bright enough for me for the money and this is the second set I've had with no probs. They are H8 fitment which I believe is the same as E92/93. The tints on my E92 were 35% rear and 50% front iirc.

Cheers, itsgood to know you haven't had any issues with them. May have to make a purchase.
The tints look good, think i'm leaning towards 50% all round, so not too dark |

very nice B3NPM although I may be a bit biased having the same colour combo but different engine!
got mine August last year so now I am used to it, I'm starting to plan some mods and preventive work...Booked i to see Steve for my Gearbox oil change, sort my bushes out, brakes changed all round (akebono pads have been staring at me since Nov!!) then start doing some minor mods. I like what you're doing though, love the wrap! got these on last week SMOKE-LED-SIDE-MARKER-REPEATER much better then my yellowed side markers: should meet up as I could do with some coding if you're up for it |

Yea I'd be up for doing some coding, far from an expert like others but I've done enough to mine and had to learn fast to fix a couple of faults I've had to save me big money on dealer visits. Are you far from me?

Hi Mate
great thread and love the car, colour and awesome spec.... bet that took some finding..! Im not far from you in Sutton Coldfield. Would be interested to meet up at some point, i'd love to see your car in the flesh (angel Eyes in particular) - and also to see if you'd be able to do some coding for me... i'd be well pleased with the auto-lights sensitivity, and the nav day/night/auto. mine is a E90 LCI with Pro nav CIC too. Let me know what you think Cheers Garry |

Was actually the first 325d I looked at but had two E9x's previously. Yeah no problem, don't mind doing some coding. The day/night/auto didn't work for my Nav, auto just did nothing, think the idrive firmware needs updating but can give yours a try. The auto headlight sensitivity worked a treat though. I'm fairly busy with work so hard to pinpoint an evening/weekend at the min but definitely up for doing it.

So... bit of an update, picked up a new CIC screen from ebay as mine was scratched by a previous owner
New screen... Upon taking apart both screens (as i don't want the outer clear plastic shroud from the new display)... it turns out this screen is from an E60 and has a light sensor on it. Now completely by accident i think i may be able to get the Auto Day/Night setting working on my Nav when i fit the screen with light sensor and re code the Auto mode again. Only problem is i want my original (E90) non outer clear plastic shroud... maybe time to get modding. Will test first with the E60 shroud before i drill any holes for the light sensor into me E90 shroud.

After a couple of days with the E60 CIC screen fitted I'm happy that the outer clear plastic causes barely any reflections like I thought it may do. So I'll stick with that and polish out the scratches on my old screen and get it in the classified section.
Not had chance to code the Auto Day/Night mode for Nav yet, now I have a light sensor in the CIC screen though I'm sure it will work. Now I'm waiting on some not so "overnight" parts from China so I can fit my OEM style reverse camera. Oh and fitted some new BMW wiper blades, the silence is bliss. I need a new CIC screen.
How do I ensure I get one with a light sensor? Does my head in when I'm using the nav / screen at night and its blindingly bright! |

Maybe BMW saw it as a slightly premium retire for a more premium model. They are plug and play with the E90 but I believe the coding needs doing to add day/night maps. It dims the screen as a whole at night already though.

My existing screen is sadly scratched (worse than the pic of yours before replacement) and its on my eventual list of things to replace! I know a guy who's very handy with coding, so I guess I will keep an eye for an E60 screen! Like you though, I am unsure of the additional clear plastic shroud! |

Well after coding and a few days with it installed I can say the Auto Day/Night still does nothing. However I've decided that the outer clear plastic can stay as I've honestly almost forgot it was there it was that unnoticeable.
The light sensor still dims the screen brightness in general at night it just doesn't flip night mode in Nav. And best bit is now my screen is mint and protected by the clear plastic so I'm happy anyway. There's always the favourite button for night mode.
