I do know that our angel eyes are 100% plug and play. I'm not sure how the HID angel eyes work so i cant say for sure on that.

Is this the OEM purple like look of AE, like the 2011 335 would have? and i also wonder if it's better to get HID kit or AE LEDs...

If I had an E92 I would definetly go with the GP Thunder 7500k's but the E90 needs a better, brighter light. Lux or Mtec for the E90 are what I would go with and they are pretty much the same.

Hi everyone!
My wife wants to change the headlights in her 2011 328i xdrive, as she does not like the yellowish color that the stock lights emit. I hve been reading this thread, but i do have a few questions. Please bear with me as we are new to BMW...

It is a 4 door sedan... does that make it an E90? (If not, mod should feel free to move this to the correct forum section)
It seems that there are a few brands that are not compatible with certain setups. I would hate to drop $500 just to find that it triggers electrical errors...How can I tell what setup the car has, and what types of bulbs or LEDs are/are not compatable?

Thanks for any help you can toss my way...

Yes you have an E90.

You can find LED replacements however keep in mind NOTHING will replicate the white angel eyes of the newer Bimmers. You can go the OSS route, definitely the best looking out there, but that's a full angel eye replacement and I believe around $700.

I personally have an E92 so I can't lead you too far into the suggestions department as far as just a bulb/LED replacement, but I hear Mtec is popular with the E90 guys.

I have the same car and used the Mtec, NP or Errors, and look great.

Thanks for the fast replies!
I am also wondering... how many lights will I need to replace?
It looks like the main headlight component has two halos on each side... I don't want to order too few lights and have stock + aftermarket hybrid due to poor planning.
Also, what do you suggest for fog light replacement?

Man...this is looking like it will get expensive!

Most everything you order will contain 2 bulbs. Each bulb will light up both rings in 1 headlight.

Ok i am getting a 2007 335 coupe. What would be the brightest angel eyes for day and night that i can put in? Excluding OSS ofcourse cuz those ill need to bake headlights and theyre expensive if I am not mistaken.

I just got the ijdmtoy 10 watt cree lights for a 09 328i xdrive. At first they were super bright, inner and outer rings seemed to light up evenly. I was extremely happy.

Then... After 2 days, I was sitting in a parking lot at idle while my son was sleeping and the right side quit working. "ballast" was pretty hot. I am assuming hot enought that something internally popped.

Will post any updates based on their customer service, but I was bummed to say the least.

thought $150 vs $250 was worth trying them out..
