I guess that explains why the VBox is ~$200 more

probably a noob question here [forgive me]. going to go cobb after trolling this thread and reading up on all options. noticed members selling "used" APs in the classifieds.

coming from VAG cars, the only way i would have been able to "sell" my APR tune would be to swap out ECUs. obviously because the files are uploaded by my tuner... so, for cobb AP, it's not a one-and-done kind of tune based on ecu, VIN or owner? it can transfer at any point?

still thinking about buying new but a couple hundred bucks here and there gets me up to v2 coils [eh?!]

When you install the Cobb, it "marries" itself to your car. When you uninstall it, it divorces and can marry another vehicle. As long as they uninstall the tune properly, it can be reused without issue.

$350 more depending on if your buy the Pro SS or Pro RR model. Pro SS does quarter mile, 60-130 etc and costs $200. Pro RR does lap times and a bunch of other circuit oriented stuff and costs $275.

There's little risk that anything would happen. I wouldn't have any reservations buying one used. Just ask the seller if its been divorced or "unmarried" from the vehicle.

This. Literally all that has to be done is to click "uninstall" and the AP can be installed on another vehicle.

I'm running Stg1+FMIC ST Aggressive I8A0S v402. Just installed it AFTER I got home from having intercooler installed. AFTER installing new map I now have what feels like an uncomfortable surge when starting from a red light with just normal everyday driving acceleration. Are others experiencing this as well on this map? I did not have the surge with just intercooler on regular stage 1 agg no FMIC map.

Thanks

Which Throttle Mapping are you using? If you're using the Stock Throttle, it might be a little too responsive for you.

Ah, the 2k Surge! Welcome to the Club!

Here is (before the fix) my Pro Etune Throttle curve looks like (at or around 2k RPM), you can see the RPMs are Cyan, Green represents the Throttle, as you can see the spikes, which will cause the surges. The Pedal position is the brownish curve in the center, steady per say. And when steady, you get these unexpected surges, as if you put the pedal to the metal.

not sure if you are experiencing the same thing I did. If so, its the Throttle Management that has to be adjusted. S1+ Agg. you really need to experience this on a higher level (pro Tune where its more aggressive) IMO to even know its there. Funny how you can feel it and or notice it. (if we are talking about the same thing).

Here is what S1+ Agg. Throttle graph looks like, you can see the spike, which is what you may be feeling. Really nothing to be concerned with. But its built in the Throttle Management and only an experienced tuner and or COBB can make the fix. Funny though, once I went back to OTS, I can feel it a bit, probably cause I knew it was there. But, if you can feel it, I believe others can too.

Dzenno with Pro Tuning Freaks and I did a lot of trail and error before we discovered the issue and then the fix. He adjusted the throttle mapping and built it into my MAPs, as well as other customers.

I would think COBB can make this adjustment but not sure if its isolated to I8AOS. Hope this helps.

That is exactly the same scenario. Just light/steady acceleration coming off of a red light. Yes I am on Stock throttle map.

Any thoughts suggestions or feedback from Cobb would be much appreciated. I hate to "detune" down to Stage 1+FMIC Sport. The whole reason I went with an intercooler was to utilize the Aggressive + FMIC map. It's just very annoying to drive with more than anything.

I feel your pain, I would notify COBB your scenario.

When I was on S1+ Agg. last week i didn't feel it that much, maybe do some logs and graphs like I did and send them to COBB and see if they are working on it.

Or try LT Mapping. That may help.

Few logs after new AWE valves, no more 3OFF code. Do they look healthy? After loading them in excel I get that warning(pic) I guess I have wastegate problem.

Thanks. Other than that do you think my logs are ok? What should I tell the stealrship when I remove the tune and go see them, cause I guess its not going throw a code?

Try using Linear Throttle Mapping & see if that is more to your liking.

I gave the tune some time to "settle in" as suggested and have to say the CPU must have learned because the surge is virtually gone.

I am thoroughly enjoying the stage 1+FMIC the car pulls scary hard especially top end. Hard to imagine there is even more potential considering I haven't even bolted on an exhaust or downpipes. The stage 1 agg no FMIC was a little disappointing but 1+FMIC agg delivers.

Haha, just wait until you get into ATR with e85 or meth. Stage 1 agg will feel SLOW

Awesome! I didn't think that could have been an issue, as i said, its very very hard to tell the surge even exists.

Can we get oil pressure added to the list of things we can monitor/log? Why is this not there?

You can't log it if there's no ECU sensor.
