Sorry to hear that ShereKhan, I clouted the sill on my Porker 997 a month ago on someones driveway marker stone, I feared what it would look like after the repair but on its return you just wouldn't know anything had happened to it plus it comes with a lifetime warranty so if anything develops with the repair or paintwork its covered for getting it put right. BMW gives a warranty as well. Paul |

I got hit by a unknown bit of flying metal on the severn bridge during gale force winds. It blew out the front kidney grille and damaged the bonnet lip. This time the bumper is damaged - in the weirdest of places though. I'll see if I can post a pic up tomorrow in a new thread. |

I left my car at the airport car park for three days. When I came back the car didn't sound too healthy.
Its as if the fuel pressure isn't being maintained on start up not sure how the engine requests the fuel pressure via the throttle potentiometer. So mine still has the fault. However I'm due for my 2nd service in 1500 miles. The spark plugs will be replaced then so i'll see if that makes any difference. The 2nd service will fall around the 31k mark. So thats going to be end of the month most likely.

If your dealerships are struggling to sort out a similar rough idling snag to my own, then I suggest they contact Rebecca at Sycamores BMW service department and ask how they fixed Paul Leggett's 320si. I hope this helps. Cheers Paul |

Topaz - never say never, but I now press the starter button without thinking about whether it will rough idle or not. Plus whether I'm getting used to the car, I am getting 480 miles (813 km) out of a tank of Ron 95 unleaded which is far better than before the throttle Potentiometer was replaced.
Paul This component sorted my problem however your own starting issues could be unrelated. |

I get under 600km from mine on 98.
800 sounds diesel-like But mine only has 900km on the clock. Running it in gently. I drive out to the country every second evening and take it for a 60-70km drive on backroads. How early did you start having problems? |
