I couldn't even take off the wheels. I think mines around 80ft pounds but I'm not sure. Once the shop let me borrow their air, I was totally fine. Point is, we kept the assistance to a minimum. If something was stuck, there was no 600ft pound impact gun or air hammers to break it free. Just good old liquid wrench haha
I meant just in general, since no air/electric tool (for high tq'd bolts/nuts) could ideally be used in this install. But i see what you mean. Also, if you couldn't break the lug bolts on the e46 by hand/electric impact, then they were one, or a combination of these:
1. Carelessly tightened by some bozo with a 700ft/lb air impact lol.
2. Your impact was not rated at a high enough ft/lbs and/or battery is bad
3. The lug bolts were seized (less likely, just because they've probably been off pretty regularly throughout your ownership).

At any rate, kudos for getting it done. I'll be doing a single turbo install later this month (hopefully), and removing the stock turbos is what im concerned about most.

I will say one of the hardest parts of the build is removing the turbos, it's really difficult. All of the hardlines are wedged into the turbos astonishingly well, and it took me about 45minutes per turbo to remove the lines. There may be a secret, but for me I just took my time so I wouldn't break anything.
