The screws are too long for the PIAAs. I ended up using spacers that I got from Home Depot to accommodate the extra length.

I'm trying to replace the AE bulbs,(passenger side) but I can't remove the SOCKET that holds it. Can you tell me the screw size and tools you use to remove the socket that holds the Angel Eyes in place? Please help.

I put the lenses on. Was it a bad idea? Would it be brighter w/o the lenses? They seemed clear/non-magnifying, so seemed to make no difference, and I prefer not having any parts I can lose
Btw, you pretty much HAVE to jack the car for this. I tried to reach from the passenger compartment, but it's SO MUCH EASIER to do it from underneath the car! Btw, the screws ARE too long. But .. just don't screw them in all the way. The bulb holds very well as is.

If you don't have a jack, you can easily do this by cutting the wheel sharply and removing the wheel liner.... very simple and gives great access to the halo bulbs. This is what I did and it took no longer than an hour to get them both in! Just an FYI!!!
Btw.. i had my stock 17 inch wheels on for winter... wider wheels may create a problem but it's worth a try!! |
