lol yes my first post! well ive stayed behind the scenes for a long long long time ,so im not new! I have to admit that im frustrated over the fact that the 328i is underpowered for my personal taste and the lack of parts and tuning out there! its been how many years now since the E92 328i debuted so i dont see any hope at this point in any kind of reasonable/ feasible tuning being developed! but anything can happen so I ,like many of us stick around posts like this one hoping for a miracle!! so post your results man!

I am excited to here how this all went!

I am interested in doing this 3-stage intake manifold but am behind on info, so in a nut shell you need all the parts listed on the first post, plus a new ECU (330xi ECU for me since I have a 328xi?) and then get everything installed and your good to go basically?

I havent looked though the 28 pages of this thread but has there been a pricelist of how much this all cost?

Ran into some problems yesterday getting the manifold in. There are some parts that I need that the 325 does not have. Also, the motors do not come with the screws to attatch them to the manifold and the screw holes are not threaded. I'm gonna come up with a parts list with all the parts you need. I'll ask about the 328i but what I have so for is only for the 325i. And the total price to do this with installation will be less than $2000.

Do you know if there is additional wiring needed to hook up the DISA motors? I wonder if the screw holes are for self tapping screws, like on the MAF sensor and airbox.

The car runs fine with the 330i mapping but it hesitates on low revs and high load (probably due the lack of intake). I'm intalling the intake this afternoon and will let you guys know. Also, after a few weeks I'm going to do some tuning on the dyno.
Marcelo as you know I'm very interested in this mod as well. I assume this is a reflash of your 325i DME and not some custom version of a piggy back right? Have you received any errors so far?

Also here is a list of the needed parts I found from earlier in this thread. Do you see any other parts besides what is shown below?

Parts needed for the swap:
INTAKE MANIFOLD 1 11617559523
ADJUSTER UNIT 1 11617579114
ADJUSTER UNIT 1 11617560538
SCREW 50X35 2 11617535850
SCREW 50X66 1 11617535851
SCREW 50X20 2 11617535849

Nice list Tom! I would add one thing: there's a vent hose that you need. Part number: 11617559530. The screw may not be self tapping. You might need to
buy a tap. The thread pitch is standard on metric screws, that's why it's not listed. Also add 11617547242: gasket set. You might need to replace them.

My car still has the 325i intake manifold and I have revceived no errors yet. It does drive funny though. Flooring it at low rpm causes a large hesitation. The ecu anticipates a large volume of air but the maf says it's not there. The car initially dumps fuel in but cuts fuel when it realizes there's no air. If you look under the hood of a 325i you'll notice 2 wires that don't seem connected to anything. Those are the motor connectors but I don't know which one goes to which motor. The dummy connectors they're attatched to must send some sort of OK signal to the ecu. The car is otherwise normal.

Yup, the 330i and 325i share the same ECU. All Powerchip did was load the 330i ignition and fuel mapping which includes the mapping for the intake manifold. Thier software has a nice bonus for people with aftermarket cold air intakes. It significantly increases the the valve lift thanks to vlavetronic. Even with the stock intake it's louder.

Excellent it sounds like you are on the right track and thanks for the parts update. I think I may be able to get my hands on an Intake. Did you ask Powerchip if they would reflash if it gets over written by the dealer? Are you running a cold air intake as well?

Yes, you can fedex it to them or you can take it to an authorized distributor. No, I'm not running a CAI.

As far as I know the 328 N52 engine is the same engine as the 330, but without the 3 stage intake manifold... but I am not a expert on the engine!

Updated is still waiting on parts. And as for pics, well... I could post a picture of my stock engine bay but I think you could get a much higher resolution pic if you just looked in your own bay.

Well, while I was bored waiting for parts I decided to do some tinkering. I connected the "dummy" wires to the DISA motors. I started the car and reved the engine. The motors opened and closed correctly. The plug closest to the front of the car controls the medium speed valve and the other controls the highspeed valve. It's too dark in my garage to take pics. So, the software does control the valves correctly which means it's only a matter of time before I have a 330i.

Yup, it's listed at $640 but I think they'll give you the same discount I got. I showed them this thread and that's how I got the discount.
