Brabus Roadster
I was in Wembley this morning with my old man and the missus. He wanted to look at a Jack Black Smart Roadster Brabus exclusive edition.
Needless to say he bought it & I drove it home. Its a notchback with a small luggage rack on the back and looks the tits. They ain't a pokey car but by Christ does it handle. I know the old cliché about go kart handling, but I shit you not this thing actually really feels like a go Kart in the corners I'll pop a pic up tomorrow, I love it just a pitty they don't do a proper powerful one with a manual box. The paddles work fine but gear changed are slow and the auto mode is totally shite. BUT it's a car with proper character |

Is that the little turbo-charged three pot motor?
I has a go in one when they were first launched and I thought then it sounded incredible. But, as yo rightly pointed out, the gearbox is an Achilles heel that I could never look past - its truly awful.

You would have to be a proper character to be seen in one.

Can I ask how much ? My other half has a fourtwo and is after one ... Personally having sat in one I don't think my back would take getting into or out of it It brings a new meaning to driving low down with legs straight out !!

As it was an 'exclusive' version it was up for 6,299. With a haggle I drove off with 800 spare
They are extremely low, I never realised how bloody low until I got in it. Driving position is bang on as is handling. Like I say it's much better to drive with the paddles than in auto mode... |

I like it. Not quick though, had fun with one in my VTR a few years back. The guy pulled over and said "go easy, I've only just got this back from the scrapyard". Don't know why scrapyard. Anyhoo.
Slightly ahead of its time? Small engined turbo charged car. Looks alright tarted up with Brabus bits. |
