Digital speedo

Took my 2011 335i to the
dealer this week. I asked
them to code the digital
speedo to full time function.
Rep says this car dies not
have that capability.
You have to reset it each
time the car comes to a stop.
Anyone else with input here?

He's thinking about the hidden menu, you're thinking about recoding the options. The dealer generally won't recode options like this for you.

I have had the M3 digital speedo("V = mph or kph") "coded" into my BC. When I turn off the car, what ever screen I was last in... will be shown when I restart the car the next time.

You should find someone who does car coding in your area. Btw... you can also have the digital speedo coded to read actual vehicle speed or the "buffered value" that the speedometer reads(+3% to 5%). I have mine coded to read actual speed and it shows exactly what my GPS reads for vehicle speed!

2010 bmw 135i. stock mechanicals except for MS-Tuning.de 's stage two chip. bumps power to: 380 PS and 520Nm 0.95 Bar of boost. Stock intercooler, stock DP's ect. Although an FMIC is on my "want list" soon.
Personal top speed of 283 kph with GPS. But I know I have seen/hit 6,400 rpms a few times before - just did not have my GPS up. And you forget about looking at the speedo at those speeds! I am told 294ish can be had in a 1er. This from my tuner who has FOB's on his 335i and has done 312 kph (w/GPS)!!

Camera was my crappy Canon SX230hs (point & shoot). Next time I will use my GoPro.
Setup: hold with one hand!
That alarm was for Esso gas stations and "tail gating cameras" on the bridges of the autobahns. But they don't film at night.

PS: I have more Autobahn videos here...

Driving around in Germany/Autobahns (videos inside!)

Back to the OP's topic... IF you can not find anyone local you can also have your car coded "remotely". There are a few site sponsors here(e90post.com ) that offer this service. Like I said you can either have the M3 digital speedo (V = mph) coded to read the buffered value (so it matches the speedo) or the actual vehicle speed which is exact, according to my GPS.

IF your car is a manual you can also have the up/down shift arrows coded in too. But I think those are quite useless. It tells you when to up shift or down shift. Plus there are lots of other cool coding things that can be done to a modern BMW.
