Like in the idrive software or just on the screen? If you mean on the screen then yes, look into avin.

You could rest your phone horizontally up against the I-Drive screen and open up the waze app

Check out this thread, it has a lot of information on what you are looking for. If you want a good mirroring solution, it's probably going to cost you around $500.
Update - ooops, here's the link - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=970480

Waze gives real time data based on the Input of people on
the road . That's its best feature and it seems to exceed all others in that catagory as far as I can tell. I can see that in area's of low traffic its not as valuable. (no people inputting data) It sends you on some convoluted routes if you let it navigate for you. You can outdo it if your in your local area and no where you are going which is pretty true of any Nav. As far as situational awareness I don't see anything better and it is always updated unlike most fixed hardware based installs. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/blog/ite...-auto-best-bmw bimmretrofits.com might be worth looking at. I believe NBT evo has android auto and a lot of other internet stuff. Last edited by ctuna; 07-18-2018 at 12:53 PM.. |

Even with mirroring, it's not as good as integrated Carplay or Android Auto, because it's simply displaying what is on the screen. All control is still done through the phone. Also, iDrive 5 and later are capable of mirroring Android to the screen. I tried it, but didn't like it. The main thing I didn't like was that the screen on the phone had to stay on, if the screen locked, then the mirroring would go black also. I din't like the idea of having my screen on for long periods of time. Quote:
