I think that is just a common sense excersize. Use some masking tape to hold the lip in place while you mark where the holes need to be drilled. Then drill the holes. That is, if you want to drill the holes. If you use the adhesive then you probably wont need the bolts.
The aero lip presses on just like all the other trunk spoilers. There are a bunch of DIY's out there

You really don't need to bolt anything with this install bro .. if you spot test/fit the piece then you'll find that the 3M tape will be more than sufficient to adhere the spoiler to the bumper.

Trust me ....... once you get the spoiler fitted onto the bumper with the tape installed you'll understand why you have nothing to worry about.
Place the tape at ALL of the pressure points and make sure the bumper is free of any wax to help with the tape adhering to the paint. |

you have to use 5 bolts at the bottom, thats how i did it i wouldnt put tape all around, you only need to put the tape on the corners. take the 5 bolts out first and test fit it, and u will realize where to use the tape

Wowwwwww dont put 3M tape! Unscrew the bolts underneath they 5 or 7...put the lip on and screw the bolts through the lip's existing holes back into the bumper. Where is the lip gon go ? nowhere. Its being held by multiple bolts. If u put the tape then u prolly cant take it off properly..trust me ive had my lip on like that for over a yr, and ive taken it off with ease in just minutes
edit: just realized this is from 2 years ago ahaha... anyways whoever installs a lip take my advice

i got some 3M tape and couldnt get it to stick to the lip itself???? i cleaned everything VERY well with soap and then with 70% alcohol... nothin. i plan on using the bolt holes as well, but those are only on the bottom of the lip, they might hold it up, but they wont hold it flush to the bumper...

alpine: what are you talking about? yeah there are holes to attach it to the underside of your car, but using only those and those alone are not going to hold the lip up against your bumper, it would be hanging from the bottom just resting against your bumper with nothing holding it on???
