Exclamation ► Brake Squeak @ low speeds for 3 minutes. (Update)

Yesterday was the first time I heard a squealing sound from my FRONT LEFT brakes. My area where I live has a lot of construction happening so perhaps it could be dirt or sand. I have more than 40% pads in the front left. Regardless I booked an appointment @ BMW Park Avenue in Brossard. Spoke to the new tech and RIGHT AWAY he tells me "Brakes are not under warranty" ! Didn't even ask if I was Brand new, CPO, etc...

I have to go in tomorrow morning at 730am.

Will they charge me for checking my brakes and going for a "test drive"?

They shouldn't... If they do then go to another dealer.

My dealer tried charging me $120 to check my clutch, and I told them to go f' themselves.

Our brakes sometimes do squeak. So they might just give you that answer.

GL. Unless there is a obvious problem I wouldn't take you car in.

+1. If it was a one-time squeak and there's no other obvious issues, don't waste your time.

I took it out this morning for a test drive.

First 3 minutes of squealing, ESPECIALLY when steering wheel is turning RIGHT.

Uhhhh, just started raining!

Mine have an intermittant squeak at low speeds, which usually goes away once I'm going 15-20 mph. The pads were replaced just before I bought the car (24k miles) so I figure I'll just mention it on my first oil change.

Since when were brakes not covered in the 4yr/50k warranty?

Did you had to remove the pads out or did you had to bend something? Do you have any pics?
