Texas raises speed limit.

Texas raises spped limit to 80 m.p.h. on over 500 miles of highway.

Hitlery doesn't have a chance in 08. She's going to get crushed in the South and Midwest. Lower the speed limit over my dead body.

I'd like to see a return to someone walking in front of my car with a red flag. That way I'd feel safer and other motorists would be alerted to my presence on the road.

80 mph is normal driving for me...........

does it really matter what the speed limit is?

people don't drive the speed limit anyway.......55, 65, 80mph.....

If the limit is 80, you can go 100 without it being a felony!

The rise in population and in number of drivers that they simply dont know how to drive, will become the pretext to put speed limits under 70 and in the future we cannot drive. The car will be submitted to a central computer which controls everybody. They are going to destroy the pleasure of driving if they can. Against hitlery there and here ...

hillary sounds awfully conservative for a democrat. i agree she has a very little chance in the next election just because she's already managed most young people to hate her and already possesses nicknames like "uptight bitch" or "ice queen" before the campaign even officially started.

Sounds sensible to me.

80mph is a perfectly acceptable speed these days ... 55mph on the other hand is just dangerous - you'll be nodding off if you try to drive a couple of hundred miles on an empty road at 55mph.

I lived in El Paso in the early 80's when the national speed limit was 55 -- I fondly remember the Director of the Department of Public Safety (the state police) being interviewed on a news show saying that his officers had better things to do than bother people who were going 10 or 15 mph over the speed limit.

No matter what the speed limit is, no one is going to drive 55 across a perfectly flat road in the middle of the desert in broad daylight!
