Floor Jack lift points

Hi,

I'll be picking up an '06 330i on Monday and will do a snow tire changeover myself for the few remaining weeks of potential snow here in the northeast. I was just browsing through many posts here (great site!) and read from another member that the lift points require a special fitting so they don't get damaged (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1487). Any idea what this fitting is or what the part number might be? I've never seen a car lifted with anything in between the jack and lift point. Seems strange? Thanks for any help.

There are a bunch of threads on this back in 2006. There is an aluminum block that one memeber had made and was selling for a while. But you really don't need it. The pad is plastic, and replacable. Just use the jack dish on it. Use a piece of wood if you’re really concerned.

I use an old leather baseball mitt on my floor jack to cushion the jackpoint ... no worries.
