Bovee tune2air issues
Odd one this. I bought a tune2air and also retro fitted the USB / Aux input in the arm rest.
The audio out of the right channel was distorted unless you lift the headphone jack out slightly (which cuts off the left channel but sorts out the distortion on the right channel) I tried with a normal AUX cable and the audio was fine... so I figured it wasn't the usb / aux module I fitted Ordered a replacement tune2air which I've just tested and it has the exact same issue!? Anyone got any bright ideas? Really gutted as it worked perfectly otherwise in terms of how I wanted it to function but it doesn't seem to want to work with the Aux input |

I have the same issue with a new tune2air and my iPhone 7 running ios 11 when I listen to the Podcast app... music seems to work ok. I've found a somewhat unsatisfactory workaround; try this if you have an iPhone:
- while the iPhone is connected and playing, open Settings->General->Accessibility. - Scroll down to the Balance setting. Nudge the Balance either right or left, just get it off the center mark. Believe it or not, for me this makes both channels work. Now, it is slightly unbalanced, which isn't really noticeable in the car but is noticeable when I put earbuds on. That's why this is unsatisfactory. But, looking on Amazon in the review section for the BoVee WMA3000B, a commenter is claiming this known issue is now fixed and to contact the manufacturer and seller for a new on. I've sent out the contacts and await responses. I'm not too optimistic, as mine is only 8 days old, so I'd think I have the newest one available. If you learn anything, post back! Thanks, Frank |

Someone in another thread recommended this but it won't control the iPhone.. just makes the Aux connection wireless.

I had the same issue! The company provided a BS response. I returned it.

just had a reply from the Amazon vendor saying they had a bad batch of 3000B and that they can replace with a WMA1000 and Y cable.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bovee-Integ...ywords=wma1000 Willing to test to see if its any better. |

It only played music from the front left speakers! Very annoying and BS excuses from the company via email. I had ordered it through amazon too.

Anyway, I'm going to try all three - the WMA1000 (with the cable they supply and my original BMW Y cable), the BMWStream2Air, and the Cool Stream Pro suggested by Flexinator (thanks for the tip!). I'm a computer engineer and I like debugging things . It'll be a bit before I have all three, but I'll report back then. Good luck with the WMA1000! Hope it works for both of us. -Frank |

So a little update... I bought this.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eximtrade-B...=bmw+bluetooth It doesn't connect the phone as an iPod so you can only use the Aux function on the head unit but its the best sounding one so far. Audio is very crisp and clear and clean. A shame it doesn't support the iPod functionality like the Bovee so you can skip tracks via the head unit and steering wheel. Also tested this.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Audio was similar to the one above but the BMW USB connection didn't power it (even though it powers every other USB device I've tested) so I had to use a cigarette usb charger. Again no iPod functionality but a perfectly good wireless Aux solution. |

Another little update - I received and installed the CoolStream CarPro (http://a.co/2AeeaPX) this morning. It took me a couple of tries to get it connected using my OEM Y Cable - I had to plug the Y Cable in first then connect the unit to it rather than the other way around. But, once connected and paired, it worked great. Both left and right channels work. Using my iPhone 7s with iOS 11, I could control the songs being played from my iDrive. In other words, in the initial test it worked just as well as directly connecting the iPhone via the Y Cable.
The sound quality was fine. I'm not a huge audiophile though, so my opinion on that may be suspect . I'll keep testing. -Frank |

Now the question is whether it works with Android. Depending on bmw Radio firmware (newer firmware I think has that issue, but there is no way to downgrade to the oldest one) it works in some BMWs but in some the radio gets stuck at Loading Songs...
That is experience I had with TuneAir. I may have to try damn thing |

I also have an android. I ended up buying a BT5 reciever with APTX HD. Sound quality is great, it is powered by the usb port, and auto connects. Took it a bit to arrive though. Here it is: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-5...72.m2749.l2649 I did some research on it and the DAC that is with it is pretty legit. |

Problem fixed
I had the same problem where the right audio channel is not really working. I cracked open the AUX Plug of my WM3000B and found out that the wiring is wrong even though the colors seem to be correct. This is obviously a faulty batch. I switched the red with the black wire and now everything is working properly!
