Need more loud

Ok, guys so i have a 2007 e92 335i, completely stock as of right now. I did the golf tee mod and the car is a little louder but not loud enough for my taste, in a couple weeks I will be doing an MHD tune and was going to decat the downpipes which would make it some what louder but i was also debating about cutting out the secondary cats also then doing cutouts right in front of the mufflers for track use. What are your guys thoughts? anyone have experience with doing this?

I'd leave the secondary cats, muffler delete and downpipes. If your turbos are smoking/worn especially leave the secondaries. Plus it helps with rasp imo. Theres a difference between loud and sounding good. A full straight exhaust will be pretty loud.

Turbos are in good shape from what I can tell, no rattling or smoke. I just figured leaving the mufflers and deleting both cats would keep it pretty tame but decating downpipes and muffler delete I'm sure would have the same effect.

Do the secondary cat delete & replace them with Vibrant High Flow resonators (1792)

Then Put BMW PE mufflers on.

Best sound mod for me: cold start delete, golftee mod (flap open) and catless downpipes. Nice deep sound and not too loud on long drives etc...

A common issue people run into is that they install catless downpipes thinking their turbos are in good shape but the catalytic converters were actually kind of hiding turbos burning oil. I've read many stories on here of people going catless and then getting clouds of smoke while idling... just something to be aware of if you decide to gut your cats.

I'm catless with the golf tee mod too. Cold starts sound great, and while there are times that I wish it was louder, it is way louder from outside than from inside, even with all the windows down. On the strange, rare occasion that someone else drives my car, I'm reminded that if I heard my own car rolling down the street at any more than a quarter throttle, I'd look around to see what sounded so nice. I've got the drift car muffler deleted, an e46, and it drones. I'm over it. I want my e90 to not drone, I spend too much time in the car!
It really does sound good catless and golf tee'd. I might in golf tee it for my 5 hour drive tomorrow though. Can't hurt, and I'm all about the comfort. I pulled the electric connector, so I can just plug it back in really easily.

Im really fond of the way a stock exhaust system sounds with just downpipes. Im not a fan of loud and obnoxious, not looking to attract attention especially in CA, my cars built very stealthy. The car sounds tame but produces a very nice and audible sporty exhaust note.

The stock exhaust system is great, im curently on just UR catted downpipes and i run the CAN flap closed. With the flap valve open it i feel it just dosent sound as nice, but it is louder if thats what you like. I have ran it open. But like i said it gets annoying and feel the car sounds better with it closed.

Muffler delete is popular because its stupid cheapand saves weight from the mufflers. But just make sure thats exactly what you want.

Hard upvote! I currently have AR catless DPs and the stock catback and its..."eh", but aside from going with a complete exhaust set up, the PE mod and vibrant resonator weld in is the absolute best bang for the buck. I happened to snag a quad tip AE exhaust that's going in soon, but before I found it I was planning the PE mod and resonator. Its sounds really really good all things considered.

Also - just do the PE "mod" the BMW PE mufflers are too expensive in my opinion and the mod is not that difficult for a shop, or even a DIY day job.

I went dp, exhaust valve mod and 335is exhaust. Growls when you get on it, zero drone and a more sophisticated sound signature for daily driving. You can hear the exhaust not when you get on it though without attracting the wrong attention.
