2011 Travel Mugs that work
Yes, I did some searching...but most of the mugs you cannot get anymore.
I have a 2011 e93 and now that fall is here, I want to find a good travel mug that will work in my cup holder. I would like some suggestions for the following mugs. 1. From Starbucks 2. One that can be picked up at BBB or Target or someplace like that. I already know that there is no mug that is 100% fling proof for these cup holders...just want one that I can somewhat trust. Thanks in advance.

In a search I found how to remove the bottom of the cup holder and now most all mugs seem to be pretty secure. I did it to the drivers side holder.

Costco (Canada but maybe those in the US also) sell a two pack of stainless steel travel mugs for about $20 that fit perfectly. They don't have handles though. I keep a set in the trunk just in case I have passengers that want to have a coffee.

I have a Starbucks mug, fits perfectly in the cup holder and doesn't move around at all. You'd pretty much have to wreck to knock it out of there, its like its built for the car. Plus it keeps coffee warm for a really long time and has a great lip that makes it easy not to spill. Highly recommended.

The BMW Factory Mug is crap.
Bodum makes a mug that works perfectly. See my previous post: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8606031 |

Cool, will have to look at Starbucks and see if they still have that one for sale.

I use these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/star056-12oz...item3a692b100c
Bit disconcerting that they’re no longer available at the Starbucks store, and after a quick search the only place you can order them on ebay is China...but still, fits perfectly in our cup holders. It’s the ultamite coffee mug IMO. |

Thermos mug with "Open - Close" switch. If you careful enough, even if your mug flips, your coffee will not spill.

Cup Holder Bottom Delete !
For all you coffee drinkers in your BMW's... this mod is a winner.
I also removed the bottom plate and support arms. Took 5 minutes, and now all my travel mugs fit like a dream. |

My salesman threw two BMW coffee thermos' in as I was driving off. They hold quite well, even when sliding around 270 degree off-ramps. No problems here.

The new model of Bubba Tasteguard that has a clippy thing on the lid fits and is stable. They make a 12oz and 16oz version. Available at Bed Bath and Beyond. Old version on Amazon is too big. |

Love love love these mugs. They actually seal and don't leak, and the trigger to open the mouthpiece is placed well so it's not a pain in the ass to use. They also fit in our cupholders, provided you buy the skinnier variety. Contigo |

Have to agree - there's a place for drinking coffee, and it's not inside a moving car.

Contigo mugs fit perfectly as mentioned above. Spill proof and are very well insulated.
