Group Buy - ETS INTERCOOLER - NEW OFFER!!
These ETS intercoolers look great, sold via AR design in the US. Read the info and graphs, the results are very good:
http://www.ardesign.info/store/bmw-1...tercooler.html ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems) seem to do lots of other Turbo stuff for Jap cars, a quick google speaks very highly of them. Their products / fabrication look absolutely top drawer. http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/ The FMIC fits pre and post LCI cars without any cutting at all. AR list them at $770 (including connections and charge pipe) ETS list them at $770 (but having bought from AR before I'd recommend buying from them) As a starter, Andrew at AR will do us 5 off ETS units at $690 each (if more than 5 then cheaper still) They will do us catless DPs at $650 pair also, cheaper for more units again. The ETS units are on 3/4 week lead made to order at present. Shipping costs will be about $100 each for individual shipping to home addresses (more chance of avoiding UK taxes), but he's coming back with more details. Who, provisionally, is up for what? add your names below: (AR design accept paypal payments, so no worries there) Doughboy (mike) - 1 Intercooler Last edited by doughboy; 04-08-2011 at 02:14 AM.. |

be very aware of having to pay vat and handling charges, i bought some bulbs from the us for £80 and the thieving customs added vat and the shipping company £13-50 added £30 to the bill, gutted wont do that again.

After the debarcle I saw with Alufelgen, I am wary of an import group buy.
I would pay more for simplicity and warranty. Can you do a deal with a UK supplier like Neil? If so I might be in. Steve

Good - 4 so far, 1 more and we're on.
First, i'm not paying any deposits!! We all take the risk. The idea here is we agree numbers and agree the discount, I then tell AR who is buying what then we each arrange payment individually with AR design. Once we're paid up (or non returnable deposit) then they ship. So we have separate purchases with AR but with group discount. Steve, understand your point, but these aren't wheels, parts i've had frm AR have been VERY well packed for airfreight and their weight (the DPs were buried in so much polystyrene I couldn't find them!) An intercooler is a fairly blunt item, easy to pack out for shipping. Also point taken about taxes, but the point here is even with taes and shipping and admin charges it sill still be significantly cheaper than the Forge unit retails in the UK. If we're lucky it will be £450 all in and better then the Forge unit at £800+ Last edited by doughboy; 03-26-2011 at 04:28 PM.. |

If I could order the ETS intercooler from Juiced Up at, say, £600 I'd do so....if it meant avoiding uncertain import taxes. Probably. Mike. |

Let's assume we get caught for import duties then the total with shipping, taxes and a £20 admin charge will be circa £628. Still way under the Forge unit UK retail price of £819. If we don't get caught then its only £474 - a bargain. Any business importing a batch would defo pay the taxes, so the unit discount needed to nullify that would be massive. Anyway, we're up to 4 now....any advances? 1.Doughboy - 1 Intercooler 2.Idnan - 1 intercooler and 1 set of DP's 3.Phil200tdi - 1 intercooler 4.YORO35i - intercooler |

Just watch the declaration form they put on them for customs mate.
If your supplier declares it as a $20 or no value item and its lost, then they won't get the insurance claim for its real value. And I would be worried who takes the hit in that case, the supplier or me? If your supplier in the USA can make the assurance they will cover it then I'll buy in with you guys.

Yoro, no problem with tracking no. that will be 100% for sure.
Steve, still waiting for shipping / insurance options for those that want them, but having never had anything lost or damaged in transit / post ever in my entire life from anywhere EVER I'm not losing sleep about things disappearing! Understand with the Alufelgen issues, but as said, I know AR pack things properly. Last edited by doughboy; 03-30-2011 at 09:43 AM.. |
