By the way, AIS radar is delayed between 30 min and 1 hour, so she is closer to port than what the AIS map shows.

I found a web cam archived screenshot of DJ coming into Halifax harbour this afternoon, but I can't seem to post it. I have never had this problem before. Maybe someone can figure out how to post it.

Go here:

http://www.halifaxwebcam.ca/live/ind...RRENT_CAM=cam1

This is a screenshot of him just this afternoon. Actually, the AIS map above and this screenshot match the same locations.

By the way, that screen shot of DJ was captured at 1700 and he was heading to the Halifax Autoport Facility. I am trying to find a web cam for the Autoport.

How long is he supposed to be in port? He will leave port on the same route, so if he departs tomorrow during daylight, we can catch him passing by the camera again and heading out to sea.

Here is a nice interactive map of the port of Halifax. Compare this to the web cams that I posted before. Us the little islands as a guide. DJ is docked at the autoport on right of the map.

No, he was rounding the corner of that large island and heading towards the Eastern Autoport. Check out the map I posted. You can see the very small St. Georges Island and the larger McNabs Island (This tracking isn't a complete waste of time. We do learn some geography. )

Here he is parked at the autoport. The yellow arrow means a ship is either docked or traveling less than .5 knots. (Green arrows mean traveling greater than .5 knots and red arrows mean their engines are off or radar signal lost.)

I just saw on the WWL schedule posted on the previous forum page that he is due to sail out of Halifax tomorrow, but I don't know the time. Maybe they will update the port of Halifax schedule and note a time. Then we can watch the harbor cams.

The Halifax schedule shows DJ departing at noon their time. Are they on eastern standard time??

http://www.halifaxwebcam.ca/live/ind...8&SET_CAM=cam8

The second camera to the left on the row of web cameras should catch him coming out of the autoport, rounding the corner of that McNabs Island and sailing out to sea.

So, that would be 8 am PST that he should depart. I just looked at AIS radar and it is showing DJ's engines are still off. But, there is a 30 min to one hour delay on the AIS radar screen, so it isn't entirely reliable.

Just so you can see what I am seeing, here is a current AIS radar view of Halifax harbor. To the right of that large island is where DJ was showing in port last night. I would assume that its engines are off and so that is why we are not seeing his radar this morning. I will watch for DJ's arrow to reappear and post it when I see it. That means they've turned the engines back on and it will give us a clue that they are preparing to depart. Keep an eye on the web cam, though, because of the delay in the AIS radar signal, he may appear before it shows on radar (just in case).

That was him. He's on his way out of the harbor. His AIS radar hasn't shown up on aislive, yet.

I was able to capture a pic of DJ rounding McNabs Island and heading out of the harbor.

Look at the bold vertical strip (it is actually a ramp) on the side of DJ in the harbor pic and compare it to the other photo I found of him. They are the same ship.

Here's an updated AIS. DJ's AIS radar signal still isn't showing. Makes me wonder if they forgot to turn their radar transmitter on.
