i have a question. i hear people all the time when it starts to rain say damn i just went to the car wash. when people say this are they upset they paid for the carwash and then it rained which is water which cleans the car? or do they say this because the rain dries up on the car and causes ugly water marks? for me it would be the second one but i dont know if that is how common people are thinking about it when they say that.

I say it as in damn i just paid to have my car look good and now its going to have water spots/be dirty because while rain hitting it directly from the sky is relatively clean, the splash from the roadway is not.

Ive never seen a car look clean after rain.
Dont forget there is alot of pollen/dust in the air so even a clean car will have water marks afterwards. If ive just washed my car and it rains i just wait for it to stop, hose it down and dry it again. (Being carefull nit to touch the paint too much mind) It used to really piss me off but i dont let it bother me as much now, unless im halfway through waxing it of course.

I'm pretty picky about my paint. Rain normally leaves water stains on your paint - calcium, smog and whatever it picks up on the way down from the clouds. If it's about to rain, no matter how dirty my car is I'll still move it into the garage.

I cant have my bikes getting wet and i have a single garage.
Besides i dont think my neighbours would be happy if i blocked the street with an awning everytime i needed to wax my car.

I hate rain. In Jersey all summer long it rains. Even if it's for like 2 minutes. I spent 2.5 hours washing my car today, and 2 minutes of rain ruined everything.

i completely agree with what everyone here is saying. and thats how i looked at it. but in terms of people who are not as obsessed with there cars saying that i didnt know if it was ever meant like oh great i just payed to have the car washed and now its getting washed for free. or is it always meant to be a negative statement like everyone has said already.

Most of the car washes here, if it rains within 24-48 hours of your wash, you can bring it back for another free one.

It's more annoying if anything, you spent a good chunk of time or money to have your car washed and to have it ruined by 5 mins of a light drizzle two days later. I know others who fanatical about it keeping their post-wash condition pristine and will check the weather forecast up to 2 wks ahead.

Lol not to sound like a dick, but I'm having a hard time believing this thread is real. Haha. Ok rain dirtys the car and people are upset they spent time and money on a car wash for nothing because the rain ruined it.

I swear there could be a drought and every time I detail my car, 3 maybe 4 hours of work, a fucking storm hits. You can only understand this feeling if you experience it. |

I love to keep my car clean. The girlfriend gets pissed when I wash my car saturday mornings and keep it in the garage all weekend if I see rain coming. Just gets me pissed driving it in the rain and get it dirty if I just spent 2-3 hours cleaning it.
