I like the size, but I'm 6'1 so it fits me. I also have a GMT and Sub that are 40mm, yes, they wear better. The SD43 is tall vs the others, no so much the width that you notice.

Dammit! I was on the hunt for the coral red 41 OP.

On the plus side, the Air-King is updated. Crown guards, new movement (may or may not share with the Milgauss), "05" replaces the "5", and the 3, 6 and 9 are now chroma light for better visibility.

I'm not impressed with those novelties at all . Why extension clasp of the Sea Dweller's gone is beyond my approach ? I won't like when I used to have a Sea Dweller I had to remove the extension clasp as well . Because the watch was nto right and somewhat uncomfortable to wear .
However, extension clasp is one of the most prominent features of a hard core dive watch
GMT Master II with left hand crown is unorthodox approach too . I find it cool but it should have been a Black / Red not green / black

Well, I forgot to add a few words on the Air King .Finally, it received an asset called crown guards which is good but it still lacks an important piece to me : A Proper cerachrome GMT bezel .It still looks uncooked to me with a flat bezel given its sport characteristics

Not too long, 4 months maybe? I had not been looking much then for some reason started looking again.

To me the SD43 is a right sized diver, the sub is a small watch as modern divers go they look much bigger on photos than they are in real life, the SD43 has the size you'd expect from a diver sports watch without being over sized.

Not discontinued either and probably the best value Rolex sports watch at the moment.

I would have been more excited to hear Rolex would be upping production on their most popular S.S. sport watches, like the Daytona.

Got a text from the AD on Sat (at closing) that the SD 43 came in. So I'm hoping to take a ride and grab it tomorrow.

So about 4 Months wait. Not happy the price went up from when I got on the list...

I got it Tuesday.

Yes, it did come with the dive extension, but I had them remove it when they fit me. Never used the one on my Sub. So prob not going to use this one.

It's a bit too big for me. I tried it on a while back and it was a bit too thick and big. They do have a different variant that is 40mm.

JLC makes fantastic watches. I prefer the sportier dress watches they make vs the really dressy ones. We'll see how it goes with the Daytona, but that is the backup option.

Thanks. I called a local boutique today and learned that the watch isn’t out yet. I can, however, put $1K down and order the watch. If I decide not to buy it, I can use it as store credit. Seems weird since all deposits are refundable in California. Told them I will wait to see it in person first, try it on, and then decide. So my Rolex AD has a few months to get me that Daytona. Otherwise, I’m gonna say fck it and go JLC. Getting tired of the Rolex/AD game.
