Upgrade TCU to MULF2-HI

Hoping for some guidance here please! I’ve decided I want USB integration in my car - E92 pre lci with CCC idrive. Navigation professional. I already have Bluetooth through the TCU I assume which is for phone calls.

What I want to achieve is replace the TCU with the MULF2 HI SVS and keep my Bluetooth for calls and also have usb integration for music.

Right now under my arm rest it’s just an aux port which I assume is connected to my iDrive.

I have the parts below already:

MULF2-HI - part number 9224674
USB/AUX port - part number 9237653

What else do I need? Do I need a fakra cable to run from the new port to the MULf2?

Thanks

Pic of my TCU below. Pretty sure one of them is the bluetooth antenna.

What are the other two?

if you want to continiue to use bmw assist you can keep tcu for bmw assist and bluetooth and add mulf2high only for usb audio, this is supported configuration for option coding
or you may remove tcu and code out assist function
bluetooth function will then move to mulf2high

Yep TCU has to come out as I have no space for it. I have an alpine retrofit using the other space. Besides I have no use for bmw assist.

So them two cables become useless? You mentioned one of them is a gps antenna. Will my sat nav still be ok

i do not think that your tcu do not allow to install mulf because it is factory solution and both modules are attached to the same bracket from different sides(upper and lower)

I've removed the TCU and replaced it with the MULF2 in its place. Connected the bluetooth antenna + USB/AUX but having some issues. Can't enable bluetooth in the car or my aux port.

Have you coded it what year is it?
If you have a car that is made at date before
the USB module was available one of the tricks
to get the correct software to load is to change
the production date of the car to a date that the
MULF module was available in the car.
Its somewhere in all those thread links I gave you.
This is not plug and play.
Bluetooth phone is available in the MULF.
What you have to do to enable it I think is in the links.

Hello. Reviving this topic because I have a similar problem.
Upgraded from TCU to MULF2 HI. Bluetooth is working ok and usb audio seems to work but aux in not working anymore. I do t know what is this small connector with 2 wires from mulf harness, think something for aux? And where do I connect it?

nope, aux should be rerouted from headunit to mulf2high main connector after full 6fl coding or headunit should be coded otherwise
