2011 328i FRM MODULE ERROR

Hey guys! So I guess I was lucky enough to have the frm module where the software that was put into the frm was bad. I was trying to code bimmercode and I got the error for it which is how I found out. Anyone know of solutions ? I see I can get it updated via using maybe computer and doing it manually , or replacing the module itself ? Or sending it out to someone who does it. But does Anyone have any advise on what I can do? Or best solutions

Do you have the cable to hook up to your ODBII port and the bimmergeeks software installed? I would start there. I had similar issues with my FRM. I could not communicate with the module using any of the software tools, so I ended up buying a new one. After the install, I still had to code it back to factory defaults, so that is necessary no matter what.

You can not restore it with anything through obd2 port. I'd recommend sending it out for repair and buying a replacement unit. If you scan the module with ista or code it, it'll brick

Would it be covered under the extended warranty that bmw offered for them?

Yessir, 10 year 150,000 mile warranty from build date. They'll want it failed prior to bringing it in though I assume, easy way to do this is to unplug the negative terminal on battery which will cause it to reboot and brick.
