Have you seen the video of that replica hartge lip that these guys made? thats different story. this is FIBERGLASS. woohoo, ring your bell? fiberglass = prone to stress cracks, scratches, blah blah blah. You would not have this kind of problem with the hartge replica lip these guys made. When you are buying bigass fiberglass body kit from somebody, you just have to expect some damage to it. Scratches/Rashes are NOTHING. Every manufacturer send out their bodykit saying "its ready to paint", but it never is. You usually have to sand it down alot more and do some prep work. thats with every fiberglass kit out there. Now if you were unlucky enough to get stress cracks on 'em too, you just gotta find a good bodyshop who is capable of doing some basic fiberglass work. try to find a place that they don't overcharge.

Ryan, Why don't you just made some Kerscher style spoiler, aprons or ACS style rear apron with the material used for the Hartge replica? That way, we don't have to order from Germany.

may not be cost effective either.. kercher stuff isn't so over-priced like hartge.

I don't know about you guys, but my rear bumper looks okay and I have no complaint. Overall, they did the good job, I don't think I need any modification except just sand the edge a little to make it smoother. I have seen the worse fiberglass replica bumpers, spoilers and lips like those on ebay, with the f.cking lousy job.
The only problem I have is DHL. They fcking just held my stuffs at their station for 3 days without delivery until Ryan and I called them today. Then they made after hour delivery, but only my bumper, and they still hold the exhaust system at the facility. I'm freaking mad now. Ryan, please pm me the tracking numbers again. I left them at work earlier. I will fcking bitch and cuss at DHL tonight, god damn it. |

I dont know about anyone else but the cussing didnt make that point any more dramatic.
On a brighter side, I turned mine in at the body shop finally and they said that the bumper did need a little work but it was one of the better shape ones they have seen. So I am happy with the whole ordeal. Lets also all keep in mind, that the condition of the bumpers and parts fall on Kerscher, not necessarily Ryan and/or DTM. He did his job by getting us the hook up and running the 3 ring circus that comes with organizing a group buy and keepin all us yuppies happy. Thanks again Ryan for the GB, hope to do business in the future. Will post pics of the bumper once painted for all to see how well it WILL turn out.

Anyway, for those who complained Ryan, next time just go get them on your own. He just did you guys a favor with the GB.

DTMRyan:
Any thoughts of making the Bretyon front bumper, or selling it? If OEM is made of fiberglass, I would prefer you make it as you have done with the hartge front lip (which i think was a good idea on your part - from those of us with fiberglass experience, it sucks). If you haven't seen the breyton, i think you will be pleased, as well as most members on here. it is not too agressive, and keeps the squarish nature of the front that is so bmw. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=111673 Let me know, thanks. |

I don't like the Breyton lip. It doesn't look aggressive to me.
