So my question is... why can't I leave the stock DP in and upgrade with the bigger turbo. What makes this DP so much different than any high horsepower turbo car that still meets emission standards? I know it puts pressure on the turbo, but hey, if your only going to punch it every now and then, so what?

Look at the new M3 with more than one turbo... it needs to meet emission standards so you don't see them going catless as soon as a high output turbo comes into the mix.
Which DP were you running that caused all your issues? I haven't had any at all with mine. You'll definitely be losing a significant amount of power by running the stock one, with our tiny snail you lose ~30whp, with a larger one you'll lose even more.

I shared the same sentiments at oneruffrder42@aol.com. _b

You drive a $40- $50k car, but squabble over an upgrade worth 10% of the value.

Though I suspect some are on either finance or rental...which might explain a few things.

More douchiness from the forums wherein some act like a 3-series is some sort of supercar. Yeah bro, money should be no object when it comes to a 335i.

Expensive car= bad investment. 335 is not an expensive car but its a fun car and mod friendly for all ages. This is the only bad investment I have made, my next one is the m3 or m5 next year lol. To each their own fellas, I want this turbo but waiting for some hard numbers first and tuner Info once installed.

I'm pretty sure no one's 335i is worth 40-50k right now. Maybe high 20's to mid 30's.

Ok I am a newbie here. Just got my BMW 335i N55 sedan 2011 model. Just wondering really, suppose one would want to upgrade turbo without trying to maintain warranty. Can I just get a turbo that's compatible instead off getting one made?

Thanks

There is no "turbo that is compatible", getting one made is exactly what this thread is about. I advise that you do some research on the N55 before you jump into modifying it.

I took a guess as I'm not based in the US. But thanks for the correction.

This is just a stupid post. Same as an AOL email address for your account and calling people cheap. Far worse is using childish internet abbreviations like u and ur while claiming to be of some higher level for owning a BMW.

Thanks for the advise. I have been looking around so far only BMS offers upgrades that takes me close to the 400HP mark but I want something to take me to 500 +. Hence why I am subscribed here.

As our n54's get older, more and more people should be paying attention to the n55 and its upgrade path. This is good stuff!

This upgrade is pretty exciting. I've been thinking about moving into an n55, and this might make me do it.

Did you pay cash for your car? if not, technically the bank bought the car and your making payments for a few years. Pretentious much? You're a straight up poser; people work hard for their money and no shame in trying to save more of it.
