Would like some help…
My mechanic swapped my wheel to a MSport wheel. The buttons do not work or the paddle shifters. My previous wheel had paddle shifters . I have no idea what year the wheel is, my car is a 2008 E93 335i. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Without a pic, neither do we, but the Msport e90 wheel with perf leather sides, re-uses your same everything except the facia. So maybe he left something unplugged?

Is the M Sport wheel an LCI? I believe paddles from pre/post LCI are not compatible without some electric fiddling.

Thanks for the help. This is a picture of my new wheel. Not sure if it is LCI or not. My original wheel was Pre LCI and already had paddle shifters.

You could swap the buttons and shifters from the old wheel into this one without taking it off, might be the work around for you. |

I'd think the quickest way to get your answer is to just remove the airbag and take a look. All the connectors/connections including the steering wheel ground screw are easily visible at that point (again, you can see how to do that in the YT video)
And, since none of the buttons or paddles work, I'd also check that the large harness connector (top center of the wheel) is properly seated If it's not that, it is possible your clock spring/steering angle sensor (SZL) just happened to fail

The lci paddles will not work without modification. I think you bridge 2 solder points on the paddles. You can search it in google and some links pop up.
The rest of the buttons should work. |
