The insertion depth won't significantly affect your alignment. You should get the insertion correct, but your alignment issues are separate.

That’s where this job became a real PITA.

Not discounting your experience—I know that poly bushings aren’t always a cakewalk—but it’s almost hard to articulate just how perfectly the stars need to align in order to press these monoballs in smoothly.

Do you have a photo of the tool you used? It’s possible that it was sized more appropriately than mine. If so, nice. Having to make due with an oversized tool (and all the improvisation it required) was probably over 50% of the struggle for me, ha…

also I had 2 poly brand, powerflex and superpro. And this time the price worth the quality, I had no issue with powerflex, but superpro were hard to install.

I use this and big washer to press the bushing in.

the c clamp was very useful, and had to use a 1/2'' impact driver.

Getting ready to do this job soon. Just to clarify, you used this tool for the rtabs on the e90? (I.E. removing the originals and installing these https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-33326763092sm or something similar)

On a side but similar note, I will also be replacing the lower outer control arm ball joint with this https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ar-33326775552 (Lemforder 33326792553) Curious if that tool my work for this as well. Any experience on a tool for that is greatly appreciated
