Seats for e92?

Hey all,
I just recently bought an e92 bmw (2008 328xi) and the seller had replaced the driver and passenger’s seats, but I guess they didn’t have the seatbelt buckle for the drivers side? As there is no buckle to buckle it into, as you can imagine this is a huge inconvenience and I’m wondering a few things #1 can I buy and replace the belt buckle? #2 if not where’s a good place to buy seats (don’t have to be oem) for relatively cheap and #3 would it be worth it to buy seats from a wrecked e90 model on Facebook market place, eBay, etc?

Sounds like your tensioner is missing (the buckle part). The tensioners go off when airbags deploy and need to replaced.

I bought my sport seats for my e92 from a salvage yard (car-part.com) and the tensioners were blown. Pick one up on eBay

Are you talking about something like this?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/40466908812...mis&media=COPY
Also how easy was it to install? Is it one of those things I can watch a yt vid on and do it myself? Or do I need to bring it to a mechanic?

you can do it by yourself by yt video, but you'll need also get a bolt to fix this to seat, so i advise you to get it from junkyard
or ask seller about bolt

and as ptpending pointed out, you'll need the bolt that attaches the tensioner to the seat.

Fillister-head screw M10X22 part no: 07146960536

If you don't get it from the salvage yard, you can just order it:

Once installed, you'll need to have the airbag light (error) cleared.

Good point, he never mentioned his airbag, but you'd think the airbag light must be on!!

I like and use Bimmerlink/Bimmercode (even though I have a Foxwell) and it can reset the airbag fault plus has the coding benefits. As you get familiar with your ultimate driving machine, you might want a tool like this in your tool arsenal
