Limp mode with no codes

I have a 2009 335xi with FBO n54 and 115k miles. It only has the a MHD stage 0 burble tune. It has a leaking head gasket.

Sometimes when I accelerate, usually on the highway, the car shakes lightly, looses some power, and the engine light comes on. It goes off in a couple seconds and the car is fine. It also idles at 600rpm. I have scanned it and no codes show up, even when the engine light is on.

Could this be related to the head gasket? Injectors? I recently replaced the spark plugs and coils.

What scan tool are you using? I'd think there has to be some stored codes if the CEL came on???

I scanned it both with a Foxwell and the MHD scanner. Both came up with no codes which confuses me as well

I was hoping a cheap scanner was the problem, but sounds like you're doing it right... :-/
