Strenght of genuine E9X M3 ZCP wheels vs Avant Garde M359?
I'm looking for some new wheels as my avant garde m359s have cracked a few times. I really like this style of wheel so I figured why not just get the genuine ones but is it worth it? Are the genuine ZCP wheels any stronger or am I going to have the same issues?

Yes the genuine wheels are forged and are most definitely stronger than the AG's.

an easy way to check is if the part # engraved into the wheel its forged, cast wheels have the part# cast into the rims

Comp wheels are indeed cast, probably low pressure or flow formed. I would be looking at arc8 forged since they aren't that much more and are considerably lighter. The only oe wheel that was forged is the 220 and that design is pretty horendous imo.

Yes sorry, oem wheel that was made for e9x. I am just stating the consensus of what people say on the forums, if wrong I apologize. If I am not mistaken, the 19s were considered an upgrade and the 18s were the base wheel.
Most OEM wheels are low pressure cast, but they also tend to have more weight in them generally but not always making them stronger. I believe its definitely more common to see an AG cracking/bending compared to OE wheels

I know my 437M's are forged, you can tell by the etched writing on the back rather than raised lettering. This is the easiest way to tell cast vs forged wheels--especially since so many companies nowadays are watering down the meaning of the word 'forged' ![]() Anyways looks like OP got his answer and I was incorrect in my initial response.

My M220's were forged and quite light. But they seem to need repairs more often due to cracking.
The OE wheels can be quite pricey for what you get. I've never been a huge fan of AG wheels, but they are generally seen as quality and good for the price point.
