Hmmm. Say if you had a UK model would you go with this? I.e is it the same as the blanking plates as in no harm re the egr cooler?

@Hoooper, European EGR has a vacuum actuation. This barbed connector provides illusion that proper line is hooked up. No electronic harness connector like on our EGRs. Of course, it is all feaux as it is a dummy shell.

Quite a while back, I asked TDI to disconnect his connector to see what sort of trouble lights came on. I recall him saying a whole bunch of stuff was caused. So we shelved this idea for our cars. My thought before TDI's test was to use this as the shaft was not there in middle if flow path. I wonder if our' shaft could be removed without system noticing. I know it would only be a minor flow gain.

I take that back. There is no cooler inlet so it is quite obvious to the trained eye that this is a non smog part. Perhaps the barb is there so novice mechanic would not have to worry about vacuum leak from hose. I would just put a screw in the hose and remove the barb. Perhaps we should ask a UK member to go ask them.

You can ask, but I'm not testing removing my shaft for you ... pretty sure my system would notice :-)

Ha ha, TDI. No, I was not asking you. You already did the other EGR connector test for me.

Hmm. Well I guess it doesn't matter as it can easily be plugged. The solution to fault code/limp mode issues would be to simply keep the EGR plugged in off to the side if using the delete pipe

Think you guys would be correct. By just unplugging it the DDE looses the "position feedback". Having it still connected, but off to the side, would keep that check satisfied.

yeah, the computer would see no difference between blocked off EGR valve still in position, and removed EGR valve but still connected

Got an update from JR that the tracking number is generated and pipes will hopefully be here this week. Fingers crossed, going on 2.5 months.

Would this work for us when it comes to smog check and having to reverse the block?

No. It would still throw the same egr codes as before. The EGR pipe would still be blocked

Per another member that's already done his, I ordered 2 of engine mount bolts and 4 of part #07129903799 (a M10x40 Torx bolt). Also ordered an exhaust flange gasket where the new DP meets up w/ factory exhaust.
