Need proof of correction to renew registration on N54. Manufacturer Recall #10EA02
I got my registration renewal notice in the mail today.
It says in order to register I will need to provide "Proof of Correction Certificate" in regards to Manufacturer recall #10EA02. It does not say what this recall is for. I assume it is HPFP and injectors. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Is the standard dealer paperwork/receipt sufficient or do I need something special? I had the HPFP replaced under the recall, but my injectors were not replaced because they did not fall under the recall parameters. Thanks for the help! EDIT: Searching for #10E-A02 instead of #10EA02 clearly shows this is the HPFP/injector recall. |

I just got this too, so they force you to do the recall?!
Would also like to know if the receipt is good enough, or there is a special "certificate". I can email my service adviser if needed.

So I just answered my own question by calling the dealer.
If you had this work done then you must go in to a BMW dealer and they will physically give you an orange piece of paper that says it was done. The DMW will not take copies, and they will not take service records as proof. You must send in this orange piece of paper. My dealer would not even mail it to me, must be picked up in person. What a pain. |

thanks for the info, going to see if he will email it to me, or need to pick it up!
does this also mean you can't use the online service to renew?!

That's weird, my dealership mailed the orange paper to me, and I didn't know what to do with it, so I filed it away somewhere. But I just did my registration, and it didn't mention the recall at all. I guess I should go make sure I still have it in case they ask for it next year.

i had that recall done last year. and my SA told me the orange copy will be for myself, they did summit/or updated the info with DMV right after the recalls were done.
they told me i do not have to worry about it, unless if DMV asked, then i can give them the orange copy but they ensured me they will update the info with dmv for me.
