low speed rear brake squeal

Has anyone ever had issue with their brakes squealing at low speed?

Its driving me insane! And really makes the car sound like a piece of junk!

From what I can hear, its coming from the rears. The puzzling thing is that its intermittent and when it does appear, its right at the car is about to stop?

Any one got any idea what it could be?

I wondered if it had anything to do with the sliding pins or maybe the hand brake?

I have that issue. It's really FLUCKING annoying. Take the calliper off clean the disc and pads - that should sort it

More likely to be the wear indicator than the pads in my experience...

I had a similar issue in my last car (not a BMW) and it was down to a missing retaining spring. I had a quick search and I think it is the same setup so maybe worth checking that is in place?

Can often be cured by braking hard from high speed 2 or 3 times to remove the build up of dust and other contaminants on the discs.

Mine has squeaky brakes sometimes too. I just need a chance to do an Italian tune up.

Take the pads out and scuff them up , grease then refit.
