Hi guys.

I've tried a few times to hardwire but having trouble getting it to work.

I have the DDPAI mini3 and it needs a VCC and ACC source. I've tried various combinations from various sources but cant seem to get it to work...

Any tips / 100% certain combinations for the wires please?!

Does the earth have to be connected to work?

Not too many clues as to what you have tried so far.

Unfamiliar with your camera but from what you say it needs a permanent supply, switched supply, and yes it will need an earth otherwise you will not have made a circuit.

You need to check which fuses/accessories are full time live, which ones are contolled by the ignition being on, and you can connect to any bit of bodywork that is connected to earth i.e most of it!
