Ouch, rates are 4.99% now. I got less than 3% back when I bought. I'd be looking at 66% more interest to pay with today's rates.

well, I know good rates at around 3% is available for loans to be paid within 36 mos. Anyhow you guys really made me think now, that I had lunch and stop by Fairfax BMW, driving my /M of crse.

In front were a Jerez Black e90 /M3 and a IB e92 /M3, proudly parked outside the dealership for everyone to see and admire. Well, there wasnt to many looking, except a few Bimmer afficionados.

Jerez Black!

whats that? I'd asked as Tony the CA pointed the carbon black color of the e90 /M

Whoppieeeeeee! I say, there is a God after all. My favorite color is available all this time, just named differently for the year 08.

It did have a slight blue tint to it. I love it!

after a few touchy-feely, the mind started to work again and I had asked.

Can I get this just Base ?

The CA quite confused, puzzled, replied "I Dont Think So! and Why would you do that ?

"Well! I look at it this way, its like buying a house. I'd rather have the cheapest split foyer house in Mclean than a Mansion in Springfield" (no flames pls)

He laugh and said very smart and he said "so its like between another loaded regular BMW and a vanilla /M3 at the traffic light. The M will definitely stand out"

"By George! I think You Got it!"

I'd defnitely remember that for future sales pitch he said.

Just feel free to hang around he said, I replied "What for car I cant even drive, much less start it"

"Well ! let me see if I can get the keys at least for you to start it, get in the car and wait there" he proclaimed.

I got in the car annoyed that this interior had no special attribute and feel to be considered an /M. Momentarily he got in and said "Ok"

"Okayy?" I looked puzzled as I waited for him to hand me the keys., a slight Brain Fart on my part.

"DUHH!!" ...

Blue Tooth! ase! Blue Tooth!

and so I started to press on the Start Switch and slight loud "VVVVROOOOM"
was heard and the magic appeared as I felt wetness in my eyes. I thanked the CA for giving me the honor to be one of the first to start the engine. I was emotionally high from the joy of the moment as I said "thank you"

while happy tears were coming from my eyes, I toyed around the left column stalk to see any difference, NONE! except that once the car is started, it immediately display the oil level gauge where average e90s mpg is at. This baby must consume alot of oil anyhow the tach gauge does have the yellow/red ban move higher once the engine gets a little warmer. /M owners should be happy with at least a little of the past they can relate. <grin>

quite nice to know that the idrive console you can put the car into "SPORTS", "NORMAL" or "COMFY" mode, so there is a major difference now. no more one stop "Sport" button mode... but an array of driving choices (EDC!) WoW! I like the COMFY mode during those laid back slouch pimping driving days. Candy Anyone!? LOL

Admittedly, I'm silently dreaming of an AW E92 M3 with the black cloth interior and standard black trim sprinkled with the tech package, 19" wheels, PDC and Sat radio

DC metro just can't avoid post whoring.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only fan of Jerez around here. Honestly, I think I'd have a hard time getting one "base," even though that's the financially responsible thing to do. I've grown too accustomed to comfort access, leather, nav, heated seats, dimming mirrors, and other gadgets. The base stereo is not as good as the Logic 7 base stereo in the 330i, so I'd also want the upgraded super duper sound system. And who can resist the 19" wheels?

I'd probably get the DCT, too. Christ, in the end, I think I'd check every box except sat radio, HD radio, PDC, and window shades. I don't think I can avoid $70K with this sort of attitude. Obviously, when the time comes to buy a new car, I'll either need to change that approach or load up a 335i or 135i instead.

yup! might as well sneak-in ZTP ZPP w/ ZCP. add 19" separately on the CC w/ metalic paint, thats all you need

Thks to Joe L., Dave M., Jim R., & Yves Badji@Passport BMW Sales for giving me the opportunity to test drive my next car today. I owe my first born to you guys, and you made me a new /M believer once again

It was such a delight driving that car 0-100 in 3 secs.

I am a changed man and will never be the same (I want one)
... especially after seeing cars its the rear mirror catch up to get a glimpse of the New Beast

KUDOS! new M3 owners

should I settle for Base w/ cloth

Did you really drive one? If so, I want to hear more about it. Are they rev/HP limited until the break-in service?
