Do an HPDE and you will be able to improve it significantly.

Check out my video from last weekend.

Watch in 1080p

The car is fighting you because it has an open diff. Start shopping for an LSD and sliding around like that becomes much easier to control. When you are taking off the car is basically only spinning one tire because with an open stock diff the power is taking the path of least resistance.

This is what happens when you have an limited slip differential. Me and Ian made this vid a while back right when I got my LSD in.

I finished second place and I was consistently running mid 1:22s, a couple of times I think I dipped into the 1:21s. The leader had to to be turning 1:19-1:20s I would say.

But, just wondering how things are since the hurricane? Is finding a reputable place to get a used car difficult? Because there were a lot of flooded cars...
And, any recommendations for a reliable used car? Not planning on a premium car either so I don't look like a bratty princess in front of my colleagues/coworkers..lol. My budget is below $12,000 or so...

That and I don't plan on taking my e90 b/c I don't want a Canadian licensed car down here.

Thanks in advance for all the help, I'd really appreciate it!
Finding a decent used car isn't hard, if you stick with the more established dealers. Not sure of what you're looking for in a car but if you're open to some older cars $12K will open the market for you a great deal.

Any idea what brands/models are on your wish-list?

SWEET!! This LSD thing is starting to get very tempting!!
It's just an expensive, and expensive labor.

By the way i took my car to a BMW dealer and they told me i have to replace my break pads and rotors. It's around $1700 total. I was wondering if getting aftermarket rotors (drilled, slotted, or like stock) could be a good idea?

Yeah they are pricey, I got mine on a group buy and installed it myself so total it was only about 1100. Changes the car completely though.

Not surprising the rears are gone after sliding around like that. The car tries to keep power to both wheels by slightly braking the spinning wheel to transfer power to the wheel that is not spinning. All I have to say is DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER FOR BRAKE WORK! I put cross drilled rotors on my car on all 4 corners and aftermarket pads that are better than OEM and dust less for about 750 for all 4 corners.

If you buy all 4 rotors and pads, I can install them for a case a beer. Take me about 3 hours to do the whole car on jack stands.

As for the diff, your best bet is to find a used one with the pumpkin already installed. If you get that I have the tools to install that too.

Dude you're not kidding, I just looked through some and they are all over the place. I think I could give the top guy (Possibly a girl) a run for his/her money in my 335.

Yeah Tim that is DAMN quick.

Especially considering he was on Toyo 255 RA-1's (which is a treaded R compound), stock fenders and an 8.5" wheel, not a full slick like a Hoosier that would net him another second or two on the same wheels

Performance friction or stoptech 2 piece and PFC z-rated pads. If you want a cheaper option, brembo blanks are good. I just bought the stoptech ST-40 bbk with hawk HT-10 pads, so I will be installing those soon too.

Your professor must hate his students. Monday test after St. Patrick's weekend!!

Get your studying done early then review Sunday night. It's probably best that way instead of last minute cramming on Sunday.
