Launching with DP's and Tune
Hi guys I was wondering if you guys with full bolt on's are running the 1/4 mile starting in 2nd gear or 1st gear. There is so much torque first gear really just spins and you have to shift right away anyway, if you take off in 2nd it spins so I am thinking maybe that is the gear to launch in. If the car is just spinning the tires in 2nd gear anyway I am thinking launching the car in second would be a good idea since I will cut out one shift in the run. I am going to the track tomorrow and will test out the theories.

There is no reason to start in 2nd.
You don't need an LSD. All you need is good rubber. A set of drag radials will do the trick. Also, I changed your title from lauching to launching.

Tires, tires...tires.
Thats all that matters when it comes to launching(well mostly) Get your tires nice and hot before your launch. Power-braking is the way i launch, left foot on brake. right foot on gas and rev up to 1.6-2.2 depending on how i feel. then let go of brake and slam the gas. DSC and DTC off all the way -sam
