Whining noise from n52 HELP!!
Alright I'm stumped here I usually can figure my own stuff out but I'm confused as can be. I just had a noise start up in my engine bay from by the intake manifold, it only lasts maybe a second or 2, it sounds like a squeal. I thought it might just be a pulley or a belt but it's coming from a different spot. Its very intermittent it only happens when I start the car, drive away or when I've been sitting at like a street light and pull off from that, also at low rpm like 1500 cruising down. I'm lost as can be any help would be great before I have to take it to someone. Also it's an n52 if that's any help.

vacuum leak
pcv system and believe it or not, oil filter. I had a MANN oil filter fail and make a whining noise. You could feel it in the oil filter housing. |
