Gioteks 335i Mod Journey

Picked up a sweet deal on my 2008 335i a few months back and have slowly been adding mods here and there as I get time and money.

My posting this journey was inspired by Sockets 335i build.

Figured this would be a good way to track my mods as I go.

I've already done a couple things, so I'll need to back track and search through photos.

Here are a couple photos og my 1st mod

Gloss Black front grills

So, I tried the dual intake system but ended up modifying the stock intake.

Here's a couple pics. I like the stock look.

Had to cut out plastic peice beside the foggies to allow direct airflow.

Also had to relocate the power steering fluid.

Quite happy with the results for now.

carbon fibre wrapped interior

Tried the 5D carbon fibre wrap, but was too glossy for my liking. Ended up going with some cheap stuff.
Considering it's my 1st time wrapping, I think the results look fine.

As you can see, I've also added a nexus 7 as my media centre connected via the aux cable. Also running torque.
(now using MHD)

Avin usa Android head unit

Popped over to China to visit some family, whilst there I decided to pickup a android head unit direct from factory.

Install wasn't too hard, took a while. And a few hiccups along the way (reverse camera)
(Sorry I don't think I have pictures)

Here is the current setup

MHD tuned to stage 1+
Using carcinogen ROM on the nexus 7 and setup tasker to open or close MHD on power detect.
Working a treat

Ordered a set of sport lowering springs.
While we were at it, replaced the stock rotors and ceramic breaks.

Here Is a more recent pic (yes she needs a clean)

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback.

Already know what wheels I'm going For.
Wanna grab set of the forgestar F14s in 19" super deep concave. So I'll have to get the guards rolled.

Just installed water meth injection kit last week, so I still have to post that. She's running nicely, but getting a misfire in cylinder 5 when hitting full throttle above 4k rpm. So need to troubleshoot that problem.

List of mods to be done inorde are:
ARM front 5" front mount, charge pipe and catless downpipes.
MHD stage 2
Most likely need to change injectors to stop the misfiring.

Get the rims and wrap her in a matt satin grey.
Probably get some airbag suspension to get her sitting nicely.

I've been quite busy recently, so I haven't had much time to troubleshoot or research, but hoping in the next week or 2 there will be some progress with this build

i agree its probably injectors if your not on index 12. but make sure you also replaced coils and plugs first since thats a lot cheaper solution.

Very nice! Your going to love MHD stage 2 it's a game changer. I just had a set of Forgestar f14 SDC delivered this week. Will be updating my thread as soon as they're on.

Thanks for the feedback.

Changed the plugs over during the last service (around 1000 km ago)

So I guess I'll try replacing coils before doing the injectors.

So it seems petty much everyone is recommending index 12 yes?

Thanks man.
Looking forward to stage 2, just trying to get rid of this misfire issue before taking it to stage 2.

Would love see what your F14s look like Once their fitted.

Please keep me posted on any fitment issues you have.
What offset dlans sizes did you end up going with?
Tyre sizes etc?

Will do! Ended up with:
19x9.5 +22 235/35/19
19x11 +25 265/30/19

Wanted to get Michelin Pilot Sport 4s but after research found they have a high sidewall and would have rubbing issues. Since this is such an aggressive setup I went with a smaller sidewall tire, the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 (also much cheaper, saved me some money for a performance steering wheel). Heard Nitto Invos and Continental DW were an option as well.

Will be max rolling fenders etc. Dont want to jack your thread so just keep an eye out for my update later next week!

index 12 is the way to go, but bmw basically doubled the price of them a few months ago.

some people have success with the continental vdo injectors.

you can check the thread in the n54 sub forum.

oil catch can install

So, while I was giving the ol girl a service. I decided to add an oil catch can. Next step is probably cleaning the intake valves while I swap out my charge pipe.

AEM water meth injection kit

So.... Had a friend visit And we needed a project to work on over the 2 days he was up here. Figured why not?

Removed the CD stacker and phone /TV unit and relocated the logic 7 amp.
Had to rig the the optical cable. To loop back through the aux (as I have an aftermarket touchscreen) but it worked out well.

Currently using a 50/50 mix and got it set progressively starting at 5psi and maxing 500cc at 15psi onwards.
Took a bit of playing around and testing, but that's all part of the fun!

So Its barely used for daily driving, but once I'm above 5psi it Kicks in. Fun watching the intake Temps drop the harder i push it.

Although I'm still having the misfire issue with stage 1+ tune. Will need to order coils before trying my Injectors.
Seems to be fine at 100% throttle through the 1sf and 2nd gear onwards. But if I'm in 3rd and floor it, seems to be chugging around 4000rps onwards before I get a misfire.

Sorry the pics aren't exactly in order
