petrol
Just filled the car up and parked up at home and noticed a small patch of petrol on the floor anyone else had this before? Is it common or do you think I have a leak somewhere?

Fuel tank breather pipe split. Try a search, it's a common problem.

Yep, it rubs through on a section of chassis. Pain in the ass to replace I hear.

It's going back it on Tuesday, they can replace it for me as I only bought the car on Wednesday! It's no wonder they wouldn't fill it up for me....

My E87 has this but only if you fill beyond the first click to the edge of the filler, which to be honest is overfilling anyway. I just stop at the first click and its never done it since.

Agree that it's a hazard and far from ideal but a cigarette butt will not ignite petrol vapours, unless it's a Hollywood movie of course! |

Had my petrol leak fixed today and as you guys said it was the breather pipe split. The very nice garage where I bought my car from put new breaks on front and rear! Well chuffed
