Garage List
I want to do alpina flash using Bimmer Geeks version of the Standard tools. I've already got it loaded and working. Was able to successfully code my injectors clear codes etc... But when I go to run the WinkFP i get errors. I'm currently downloading the SPDaten files 60.1 I believe. Anyone have a handy DIY or done this with the BimmerGeeks version of the software?

Where can I find SP DATEN E89\ECU ??

I am SO stuck! Many, MANY thanks to 808 for posting the DIY in this thread (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=918608) as well as this other similar one (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1196830).

I'm following all the instructions fine until getting stuck at "Copy the group files from the SP Daten E89 folder to C:\EDIABAS\ECU". I have downloaded several different SP Daten E89 versions -- currently v60.1 -- and they've all been configured the same: the SP Daten E89 folder I download NEVER has an \ECU subfolder, only \CFGDAT and \DATA. And neither of these folders ever have any *.GRP files.

Apparently, I'm the only one completely misunderstanding this, because I can't find any other reference to this problem, and I've been searching for a week.

Thinking it could be an \E89 folder inside some other folder downloaded like all the CFGDAT and NCSEXPER and all those that I was supposed to put on the C:\\ drive I've done a search for *.GRP of the whole drive, but nothing comes up.

Where are these *.GRP files? And where is this \ECU folder in the SP Daten? Looking ahead I can also see that I'm going to be lacking the \E89\DATEN folder and the \E89\SGDAT folder. Where can I find those? It has to be something stupid I'm missing, but I've reread both DIYs several times and can't find anything.

All I'm trying to do is register a new injector in my 2011 335d. I ran into the problem that INPA doesn't have the N57 already in the Engine functions. It says "D73N57C0 module found" instead of any of the modules that it apparently expected. I will be following this thread (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1206390) in which 808 also helped immensely to rectify that situation, but I'm pretty sure I have to get INPA properly configured first.

Am I barking up the wrong tree with that too? I've been searching so much and finding so much ISTA/+/A/D/P Rheingold E-Sys INPA, etc. jumble all the time thinking I've finally found the solution only to find that something doesn't work.

I promise once I get this project finished, it's something that should be SO simple, I will write a DIY for beginners with pictures and no gaps to simply get whichever software can accomplish the task properly loaded, configured and how to just simply register the stinking injector. BMW wants $320 to just plug i and register the injector ... maybe ... could be more.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Not much help for diesels and euro 4 cylinders with most
of these downloads.

You might see what comes up with a search for diesel here.

Where did you download it to . (e89 daten)
There is nothing set in stone that says it has to
be in the location you indicated.
Usually when you download something it defaults
to the Download Folder on a PC unless you direct it
somewhere else.
Then you usually still have to unpack it using a Zip
program like winzip7 which asks you to put it some
place else. Its up to you to tell it where to put it and
to keep track . Since its a data file it doesn't have to
go anyplace special, but you have to know where it is
to give the coding tool a path to find it when you integrate
The datens with the active programs.

The coding tool takes care of downloading all the file types
including .ecu to the correct active folders. you just have
to specify the source and the destination it no which files
to update . Which will normally be ediabas , winkfp and ncsexpert
It will also make a back up copy of your old files
if you like. It updates ediabas , winkfp and ncsexpert as you
can see in the selection boxes.
the new datens into the active folders on C drive .

Do you know your DME type have you checked for in ediabas/ecu
that is the active folder for ecu I believe.

Ctuna, thank you so much for your help.

Yes, I'm keeping track of where I place the several SP Daten versions that I have downloaded. I've lost track of how many -- at least five. The problem was never the location but that none of them had the files that I needed (according to 808's DIY), starting with the *.GRP files. That's where I was stuck. After downloading that many enormous files on slow internet I was convinced I didn't understand something, but I finally got another one downloaded that had the \ECU\*.GRP files.

Now on to getting INPA configured to communicate with the diesel DDE (D73N57C0).

Set up BMW standard tools

The description for installing it is quite good. I may have some problems along the line, but I will try it.

Hi,

Your inbox is full, no doubt with questions about Standard Tools

You mentioned in the thread about a development version of Standard Tools containing extra programs like PafMaker. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of PafMaker or know where I could get it?
