“Cornering light failure” error 330D 2006 Saloon
Just bout my 330D and have a couple minor issues to sort;
I’ve got a cornering light failure error on my dash. From what I’ve looked at the part number for lhs headlight is 6942745, which has xenon and cornering lights. The rhs is 716208, from what I’ve looked at this has xenon but no cornering lights. So I think this headlight wasn’t the original. Two questions, would the original be 6942745? I have a 2006 BMW 330D Saloon SE auto. And would you agree that having the headlight 716208 could cause the cornering light failure error, as it doesn’t have cornering lights? Thanks |

716208 is a digit short surely?
Seems a fair assumption that a headlight without a cornering light would interact disagreeably in a system designed to have a cornering light fitted. |

Car FRM is coded for cornering lights. If one headlight doesn't have that functionality then the FRM naturally thinks it's faulty. Replace the headlight with the correct one or code out the cornering function... |

Thanks above^. 7162082 I meant to type. Turns out that 7162082 is the correct and original light and 6942745 is the wrong light. Annoyingly the 7162082 is letting a lot of moisture in so I was hoping it would be this one that needed replacing. Rather than having to buy two. Never mind, looking at the prices I understand why the previous owner didn’t buy the correct headlight as a replacement, as it is bloody expensive.
It will stay the same for the time being lol |

Update: Using INPA and Tool32 I have coded out the adaptive/cornering light functionality so I don’t get the error on the dashboard or if I’m scanning errors with a diagnostic tool. As it’s around £1500 for two new headlights which have the correct spec; I can’t say that I am that bothered about having the cornering lights.

I had a faulty nearside module, so I replaced it, but still get the cornering error message. Obviously something else is at fault, so I was going to code them out as they've not worked since I've owned the car or for 5 years of the previous owner |
