Upgraded Front Diff

I found an upgraded rear diff but what about the front diff? Are there any available or is it such a foreign piece that one of the popular units cant be substituted for it?
Thanks!

not lot of options

I am in the same boat. I have a FBO 335xi. I have not 100% confirmed it yet. but suspect my front diff is going out.

Mine may be the cv shaft. I have a great guy I use to rebuild diffs out of americans trucks.

I asked him about the 335xi.... and rebuilding it and even strengthening it up. From what I understand the bearings should be replaceable once we get it out.

It may end up not being that cost effective to do this as good used ones are $300-800... yes a big range I think due to millage and who is selling.

The Manual car units are 3.08 gear ratio.. From doing some research there is some false information based on build dates. Many of the salvage yards tell you that there is a different part for post 5-08 build cars. This is not true.. any of the e90 and most of the F60 units that are 3.08 will work.

I plan to take mine out and have him take it apart and see what he can do.

When you buy a new one from BMW they ask for a core, so they must be rebuilding them.

If my guy can do it I will let you know.

Thats great! Please report back.
Also can you take a pic of the unit? Its just hard to believe that its such a one off unit that no one makes something that can replace it.

Looks more like no progress lol

I'd be happy with even a 4 spider gear upgrade to start with

There helical lsd's are going for $999 from what I saw.

I think we should get pricing clarification before we get too excited.

I don't want to push everyone to another website, but since the option is dead on here, is it okay for me to post a link to another forum that needs 8 more for front LSDs?
