Same here. I just did the fronts and reset the indicator. Now its shows both front and rear are _ _ _ _ and yellow. I did not cange out the sensor since if it is like the old sensors it is based on making a ground/short when the pad gets low enough for the sensor to touch the rotor and make a ground or a short.

Any ideas about setting this??

You must change out the sensor. Did my rear brakes yesterday and it reset to 49000 miles.

Ok, but why would the rears read _ _ _ ?

And why does the sensor need to be changed if it is no longer making contact with the rotor? What would a new sensor change?

I sould also state that the CBS was -90 miles when I reset.

It is electronic, it is probably related somehow.

It is probably a one way system, once it begins the countdown there is no reversing it.

One more thing, others had the same problem when they didn't change the sensor and just reused it.

Change it and report back. Don't leave us hanging!

Ok, I'll change the sensor. Still don't see how the rears would be also reading _ _ _ when they were reading 29K.

I'll get the sensor this week and report back.

Awesome Blossom!!!!
Saved myself labor charges on my first out of warranty oil change for my 2006 E90!! BMW got smart and replaced the 27mm bolt for the oil filter and made the whole cap the top huh...bastards! Turnermotor sports has a tool to remove this for $26: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-13...lter-tool.aspx, anyone else sell it cheaper? Luckily I had a strap wrench, but how do you know how tight to close the oil filter top? I guess as long as there is no oil leaking from there then I'm good?

Anytime you reset the brakes front or back - you MUST replace the sensor it does not matter how many miles are left on the pads/sensor.

The Car on lift and red "brake" light will stay on until you replace the sensors.

This was tested many times - trust!

Hi guys,

I own a 2006 325i. A few days ago, the microfilter service light came on. Like a good, caring owner. I promptly replaced the microfilter, however, I followed DIY here but the service light is still coming on whenever I start the car.

I seem to get to the point where I'm "resetting" the service indicator, as I get the clock icon spin around. When it's done, however, it simply goes back to a yellow microfilter icon with "Miles - ______ Next service - ______" and continues the service message whenever the car is turned on. I've tried the reset with the engine on and off to no avail.

Is there something different about my problem altogether? From what it sounds like, once you pass the recommended service, the miles start going into the negative. However, since the original microfilter light came on, it has just remained with the ______ for the service indicator.

I know this won't affect the car in any way, but it's just annoying. Any help would me much appreciated. I'm relatively new to BMWs but I consider myself a quick learner. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
