Sure.....sometimes people actually do get lucky and buy a pair of those ebay turbos that last a while. But when you surf all the N54 a 335i FB forums, even the guys that have "good luck" with them have them start failing around 10k miles.....many of them have issues way before that. The fact that all those china turbos come with fake balance sheets has got to tell you something about their quality.......

If you can't swing a set of brand new Pures...what about looking at RB turbos? They are as good or better quality than Pure....and are priced much better. Just something to consider. I would not trust anyone to rebuild a set of old turbos........but that's just me.

I wouldn't put a set of eBay turbos on my car if they were given to me. Just not worth it.. as far as Pure vs RB.. not even comparable imo. Pure makes amazing turbos but RB makes the best and most reliable turbos for this platform. Pure's High Flows aren't even in the same league as RB's Game Finisher High Flows and they're cheaper.

Pure's stage 2 DD's vs RB's Twos Plus.. again quite a bit cheaper and better imo.

Rob Beck "RB Turbo" is a true turbo builder and his attention to details is beyond everyone that sells turbos for this platform. The guy doesn't do marketing and feed people with a bunch of shit.. his product speaks for itself.

My own personal experience dealing with Rob was flawless and I highly recommend anyone that wants a set of turbos for their N54 to reach out to him.

My ebay 17t’s outlasted my pure600’s. They failed in less than 2 months. 17t’s going strong 5 months in.

Now that being said, Pure was very professional and able to provide good customer service and send me a new set. Sure, I had to eat the cost of the turbo install but the customer service and warranty is the real benefit with going Pure, even though they are made in China like almost every other set of upgraded twins.

Yep. You proved my point exactly. Every set of twins for this platform outside of a select few are Chinese.. THE ONLY NON CHINESE PART USING BUILDER FOR THIS PLATFORM.. well his name is Rob Beck aka RB Turbo.

Yep!!!! Rob makes the best twins for our platform...period!! I used to think Pure might make a better turbo, but it seems like lately I see more and more people having issues with Pure turbos.

RB turbos are the only ones machined, assembled, and balanced here I'm the USA

I thought that pure's stage 2 DD and HF were made in the US and they're pure600's were made in china, making them almost 2 grand less than the stage 2's. Was I told wrong/misinterpreted someone wrong?

Which would you guys recommend for the 2011 N55? RB's or Pure600?
On seeing that these are twin scroll turbo's ?

I am of course biased because im a Pure Turbo vendor

Pure is a turbo company with numerous departments, including Q/A, R&D, production, sales, and customer support. They offer kits to numerous car brands including BMWs (all engines), GTRs, Porsche, Mcclaren's, and many more

RB offers 2 turbo kits only and both are for the N54.

Both brands are proven on this platform and provide a lot of power

RB is strictly n54.
Youd have to go Pure. Rule of thumb is dont go chinesium. Especially not Very Terrible Turbos.

If you actually enjoy working on your car, more power to you.

I enjoy the process of maintaining it and making sure she's problem free but I actually despise wrenching. If I were to ever DIY turbos (and I have no desire to), there's no way I would risk doing all that twice by running Chinese turbos. Do it once and do it right.

Those were my thoughts also....that's why I went with RB. One and Done....didn't feel like doing that job again in 2K-10K miles (seems like most ebay turbos fail in that range).

Wasn't worth the gamble.....

RB is the only option for twins. If you choose another.. you're wrong and eventually you'll see why.
