Help!!! My car has many engine codes
I have the following codes
2c7b 29e1 2c7c 29e0 2cab 2ca7 2f9e 2c6e 2deb Car ran fine before one day wasnt able to reverse out of my garage and car went into trans malfunction. |

My suggestion is to review the attached pdf: "INPA Tutorial Quickstart", including HOW to Save & Attach INPA ScreenPrints, and THEN: 1) Save & Attach ScreenPrints of "INPA > Functional Jobs > F4 > F1 Error Memory, All Modules" which will be TWO Screens. 2) Provide Last-7 Characters of your VIN. 3) Provide a photo of Instrument Cluster after Engine Start, showing any Warning Lights present. 4) List ALL performance issues in the vehicle, such as rough idle, transmission issues, etc. and if there is ONE you would like to address FIRST, please identify. 5) If any maintenance was done on vehicle in week PRIOR to issue beginning, please describe, with History. The Fault Codes you list here are related to: a) O2 Sensors (4 Codes); b) Mixture Control, BOTH banks, cyl 1-3 & cyl 4-6, 2 codes; c) single code for Each (i) Oil Level Sensor, & (ii) Power Management You appear to have Multiple Issues. We can suggest Next Steps you can do with INPA or a Multimeter, to properly DIAGNOSE an issue instead of "Throwing Part$". ISTA Fault Definitions are attached to NEXT Post. George |

I’m not sure if my inpa is messed up but this is all i get from error memory, i was able to see more info on errors in gearbox where my main issue is
1. see pics attached 2. 7X50226 3. Only lights that illuminate are windshield wiper fluid and service engine soon 4. Car starts up just fine, has rought idle for about 30 seconds then runs just fine. One morning after sitting in garage about a month or 2 ago got transmission malfunction and couldn’t reverse out of garage got, ended up getting to drive and went to school and back home. Was able to take it on a drive with my mechanic who wasn’t able to diagnose the issue very well or really at all. Transmission never really had much of an issue except for sort of delayed shifts and the notorious high rev from 2-1 downhill. Car can no longer reverse out of driveway at all now 5. no maintenance had been done in the week prior, only odd thing i noticed was when i went to pop the hood to trickle charge batter a couple days ago I saw my hood insulation covered in engine bay, A mouse i’m assuming had a field day and am wondering if the little sucker could have chewed on a wire or something. |

That said, your INPA Screens offer some clues. Your "Information Memory" INPA Screen showing "4F86", shows "Wandlerkupplung geregelt" = Converter Clutch Regulated at 175,464 km, and AGAIN at 178,416 km. That's 109,028 miles & 110,863 miles. NOW, at 181,640 km (112,866 miles), you see "Wandlerkupplung offen" = Converter Clutch OPEN. Those translations are with Google Translate, and may NOT be most technically-correct German to English translations. I would want to know: 1) WHAT is "Wandlerkupplung/ Converter Clutch"? Is that clutch that engages Reverse Gear? 2) WHAT does OPEN/ Offen mean related to that clutch? Is that an electrical issue (relatively cheap repair), or mechanical clutch failure? 3) Appears that fault was progressive over last ~ 2,000 miles. Has there been any AT Fluid LEAK? Since fluid loss, LOW AT Fluid level & LOW pump pressure can cause lack of gear engagement, is it reasonable to drain fluid, drop pan, check magnet for metal wear, change fluid & pan, and REFILL with proper amount of NEW Fluid. That is a DIY procedure for LESS than $200 (new fluid & replacement pan with incorporated filter. It does require Ramps/ Jack Stands to get vehicle off ground & LEVEL so you can add fluid with engine running. 4) There ARE some "cheesy/cheap" shortcuts on procedure above, such as: you could simply jack rear and pour in an additional quart of proper ZF AT Fluid, and see if anything changes. YOU can learn a lot about your transmission issue by simply: A) TRANSLATING the German to English on your INPA Screens: https://translate.google.com/?sl=de&...r&op=translate B) Take the time to study the Fault details or Freeze Frame data to see the conditions at which (including mileage) the fault was saved. C) Using BMW Fault Code Lookup to get additional Information (SOMETIMES ;-) regarding a particular code. D) Don't be afraid to THINK/ ANALyze. thank you very much, i truly do appreciate your help. I plan on replacing the mechatronic sleeves, fluid and filter replacement, as well as the solenoids. Hoping that this will tackle many potential issues with transmission and help prolong the life. I was wondering if you had any knowledge on what wire L1-L4 means in terms of transmission. In inpa it states that wire L3 is off

ISTA Transmission Wiring diagram shows 4 wires (P,R,N,D) for the Selector Lever Position Switch (in addition to Ground wire). There ARE INPA Screens in EGS Module, that show gear selected as Live data, found in EGS > F5 Status. Also, if the Black/Yellow wire at X1599/3 (Reverse Signal wire) were NOT connected or functioning, you probably would NOT see "R" on the Lower Instrument Cluster display when Reverse is selected. Don't be afraid to experiment with viewing different INPA Screens, at least F5 Status Screens, as those ONLY show you Live data as INPUT to the EGS Module, and you are "Just Looking" & can't hurt anything. Please let us know what you find. George |

update!!! underwent the diy trans service and found just what i expected. wasn’t able to go on real drive didn’t have enough fluid but reversed with ease off the lift

it’s like the adaptor seal or something of that matter. I ended up doing a full trans service, new solenoids, filter fluid and mechatronic sleeves. Wasn’t able to take on full drive because the 7 liters of fluid wasn’t enough, but had my reverse and drive back

hello again, so came back to my car today as it was at my shop waiting for 2 more liters of fluid. When i got even near the car with the key the electrical system malfunction popped up. Then when turned on had damn near every light in the car pop up. Wasn’t able to drive at all before trans service but now won’t shift into second gear. Could this all be battery related. The voltage of my battery is like 11.5
