New Shifter rebuild or upgrade advice

Does anyone have any experience with upgrading or rebuilding the 6 speed shifter by bushing replacement or rebuild kit, replacement? My clutch is being replaced this week and now would be the time to do it and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the rebuilds or upgrades?

The sloppiness is totally gone. Shift effort is much higher with the short lever. I'm actually planning to go back to the longer stock lever based on my personal preference.

any recommendations or kits that would make the most impact? I dont have alot of research time before they put the clutch in and window of opportunity closes, otherwise id invest more time. Hey thanks for your feedback, always appreciate input from others.

The plastic cup or "shifter bearing" would be the easiest win in terms of cost + labor, but when I got under the car and wiggled the various components, I observed that all of them were contributing to the play. It depends on what is worn on your car.

Just replace the parts with OE if you think the shifter is worn past its service life. The Z3 (short) shifter parts bolt into most other 3-series models.

Other than that there are numerous BMW short shift kits available from the typical BMW vendors such as ECS, etc.
