The difference between standard and m sport

Whats the difference between standard and m sport is it just the bhp and suspension and why do people frowned upon people putting m sport badge on a standard??

Thanks

There's lots of differences. And people frown upon M badges on m-sport aswell. It's not an M3 so don't do it

Bumpers, steering wheel, kick plates, window trim to name a few. Mostly cosmetic changes. And as far as I know, a 335i comes with m-sport suspension in SE trim aswell

No difference in bhp, same engines are available in standard and m sport, differences on the m sport include lower stiffer suspension, different body kit (front and rear bumpers and skirts), and interior differences such as different sportier seats, steering wheel, gear stick etc.

I am sure there are other differences and others will chime in, but differences apart from suspension are cosmetic

on E92 gear is the same on auto
only 335 version SE has same msport suspension unless deleted.

All other model has softer suspension if not msport.

So if bmw factory have modified it then it's a m sport so my standard 320d e90
when mapped will be just as quick as a m sport and looking at Eibach Pro-Kit my handling will be better??

Yes.

personal preference on the eibach, depending on your definition of "better"

But in this case it would make no difference being se or m sport as the suspension will be changed anyway

I don't sorry... It's not something I have looked at as I am happy with the m sport stuff I have.

I will leave it to others to recommend, but as a starter it might be worth working out exactly what you are after depending on your driving style, and what your requirements are for comfort, damping etc to give people an idea of the direction to point you in

Your car doesnt need mapped to be as quick as an MSport, its already exactly as quick as an MSport version of your car.

MSport is simply a Trim level. The drivetrain does not change in anyway, its just cosmetic stuff plus the lowered/stiffer suspension.
