(Disregard the ratings posted to the left)

This sounded really complicated to me the first few times I read through all these articles, but when you boil it down, the wiring is really very simple. All installation details aside, this is what you are doing in its most basic explanation:

1.) Cut wire #12
On freshly cut wire #12 (coming from headlight):
i.) Connect your own wire.
ii.) Run your wire to sidemarker
iii.) Splice your wire into existing power wire for the sidemarker
On freshly cut wire #12 (coming from car):
i.) Connect resistor.
ii.) Attach resistor to engine bay.
iii.) Ground the other end to a metal surface in the engine bay.

Also, keep in mind: This DIY requires that you replace the front turn signal with an LED in order to compensate for the difference in power consumption.

OK, I did this mod today and am having some trouble. I got all the connections correct (tried both with grounding to the ground wire coming out of harness and grounding to metal) and two things aren't working.

First, my side markers no longer work. I did replace the stock lights in the side markers with LEDs also.

Second, while Angel Eyes light now as DRL, the yellow highbeams still light. Is this normal?

Anyone know the reasons/solutions?

Thanks,

LED Troubles

I did this mod, yes pretty simple, but my LED's don't work. When I put back my original stock yellow bulbs, they work fine. Any solutions/Ideas?

I've had this mod for a very very long time now. Held up perfectly and the dealer never noticed it. I just made sure I had my lights turned off when I turned it in to them.

When I was doing the mod I ran into some problems, too. I just checked my connections over and over and finally found the problem. The hardest part is running the wire to the passenger sidemarker for sure!

Sorry but I did not feel like reading the thread because I am in a hurry ATM,
but does this work without changing the bulbs and needing resistors, so I
can keep the stock bulbs?

Hi,
I have to do this due to Finnish safety check...

Will this mod work with regular bulbs? And will the corners still blink as turn signals with side markers?
Thanks!

Negative Ghostrider.

The easiest way to do this mod is to just buy the kit from Jlevi. It comes with the necessary resistors, LED bulbs, and some wire connectors for your splicing pleasure.

Not exactly sure. I just used the ones from Jlevi's kit. PM them, they should know!

OK, so I just completed this mod, but I'm getting error messages I never expected. I followed the instructions above as I already posted and everything seemed to be working fine. I got all connected and tested it, no problems. Then I put everything back together only to find that A.) the turn signal doesn't work anymore, and B.) my adaptive headlights no longer work. As far as the adaptive part goes, I'm thoroughly confused because I never touched ANY wires for the headlights, so why would it affect their functionality? Only reason I can think of is if for some reason the adaptive is somehow tied into the turn signal. Can anyone help me figure this out?
