Didnt get the M3 because the reason I sold that car to begin with is that I hate going to gas station 3 times a week....I drive alot. |

Sorry to see the damage. Simply replacing the passenger door on the driver's side is coming in at $2800 FWIW. Mild dents from a vandal or a deer. |

I haven't picked up the car yet...once I have car in hand I will post some pics.
BTW, my adjuster says the initial estimate to fix the car is 12K but likely to go up abit more once they tear everything down...no apparent frame damage...he said not even close to being totaled as my insurance company says it has to be 75% to be totaled. |

Love the cars you have....335D perfect daily driver...Cayman R might be perfect weekend car.
I was thinking of adding a Cayman S recently too...sold a C4S with Bilstein coils a few years ago...best handling car I have ever owned except maybe the Lotus Elise S I owned awhile back. Regarding the M3, as the generations go on the steering feel has become more and more numb feeling...hence I have always added coil overs to get the steering feel right again...each version has also felt heavier and heavier...so yeah compared to a base M3, the 335D with sports pkg is only modestly off. |

I had a 98 E36 M3, and it had a very similar feel to the first Cayman I owned...a 2.7 in 2006. Power level and 5-speed felt similar, also. I took the E36 to Dinan when I had about 20k miles on it and had it supercharged. Then it felt like the second Cayman I would once own...LOL...a 2008 Cayman S. When I got my 335d I had very low expectations regarding the handling of the car, but got lucky finding the M-Sport car and have been delighted with the reality of how good it is. It is fun to move from the d into my R. Totally different feel winding the engine up past 7000 rpms versus the monster torque down low from the d. OK...back to the OP... Good news that you found a d you like. |

I told you your car doesn't look totalled ok! Who mentioned mods or blah blah blah. You asked a question and we all replied, I gave u my honest opinion. If you don't want a Crashed car then that's ur honest opinion and I respect that. Just don't jump the gun when good people are giving you there advice. Did i even bring up mods? I know it's a pain in the ass as many off us have had a hit scratch or bump. Good luck |

Bro, take it easy...not mocking you at all...others on this thread have said to take this opportunity to do exterior mods...as noted above, not into exterior mods myself.

so I got the car last night...surprisingly, the steering feel is abit more light compared to my 2010 33D with sport...did they make the 2011 steering feel this way on purpose?....gas pedal feel is abit different too.
But I really appreciate this car, esp. since I have been driving a Chrysler 200c loaner for awhile now. |

A little touch-up paint and it should buff right out.

Eh, I doubt it. Went from OEM non-m wheels (w/ spacers), aftermarkets (w/o spacers) and to OEM m-wheels (w/spacers). Didn't feel any difference at all.
I think it's the OP's crappy loaner that's tricking his mind.

Repair bill up to 16K now and car in auto body shop since Nov 11th...and I haven't heard from them in a month...so taking 2 months to repair par for the course?

Normal for that amount of work. I just got my car back, was $15k worth of damage. Took exactly 30days to repair, and that was just the front end. This was at the dealership body shop as well.

woo hoo...supposedly getting my car back next week.
I will have to post some pics of both cars since I will have the white one for awhile longer since I now have to get the new one in the shop to repair a big spoiler scratch from bad parking job. It never ends! |
